was Jet Li's father. It was a sad twist that the woman who killed herself was a tryst he had and forgot about. That said, Li was a badass before birth if he survived in his mother's womb after that kind of a fall.

Well yes, but there are many interpretations of that. But I don't think she really killed herself. It wasn't clear or not whether it was a dream or reality. Because why would she be jumping out of a window of a different apartment if Stallone entered from a different apartment? If she really killed herself, she would have jumped out of the window of the room that Stallone entered.

For the last time, it was a U-shaped hallway. That's why it appeared to get narrower during the scene with Terry Crews' "girlfriend". :rolleyes:

That is right I didn't look at it.

But the take away from this is the conversation would be much different if we were in person and you continued to stick your tongue out at me when I told you to shut your piehole about the movie. -wink- see I can use it too!

But then again this can be expected from someone who says they would lose respect for their wife if they gained weight.

I can't vote on this film. As a film in general...it's a C maybe no higher than a B-. As a type of film I've wanted since I was 4...it's Randy Marsh blowing his load awesome. How do you want me to vote on it?

lol....

on a much serious note. I've no qualms w/ the way it was shot. It's that damn editing and CGI. That takes a notch down for me. Also...the coloring used in the shots was too dark sometimes. Kinda wish it was the same way it was in the trailer.

Time for me to let this go... to me what I read in the post that got this started was a spoiler, was it IDK I will find out tomorrow. However that jackass response I got was out of line no matter how it was intended. nuff said on this I will post my review when I get back. From what I have read it sounds like I should enjoy it.

If we (as in everyone in this thread) were all talking about this movie in person, you would be the asshat that tries to join in the conversation and tell everyone to not talk about the movie anymore because u didnt see the movie, and u wouldnt even walk away - u would stand in front of everyone's conversation and put your fingers in your ear, making noise to not hear the conversation.

The color timing didn't bother me and, although I think the camera could have been pulled back a few feet, I was mostly content with the shot compositions. But the godawful editing killed the action sequences. Not all the CGI was terrible (the hallway CGI was acceptable and necessary) but the CGI blood was silly. As Giantrobo said, most of the action was so over-the-top, the blood wasn't even needed.

over-the-top? yes, of course. Blood not needed? ehhhhh...if it was squibs I'd be more happy. It's the CGI blood flying...just is too shiny, w/ a heavy solid look to them, and also doesn't "jump" out that well to convince me it's "blood".

This film is the perfect example of why 4k D.I.'s should become the standard. The whole film is grainy as shit because they decided to massively fuck with the colors in post, and the low light shots are just embarrassingly bad. The opening scene looked amateur.

1.) Stallone needs a new cinematographer who doesn't completely rely on color grading.

2.) If you are going to hire a cinematographer who sucks at his job at least give the colorist 4k scans so he has enough information to work with with out making the image incredibly grainy.

Spoiler tags are useful, but this deep into a review thread, it's not expected that every single element of the film will require a spoiler tag.

The super grainy look didn't bug me but the shot compositions before we see the team did bring to mind the amateur feel you were talking about. I thought it was intentional but it didn't really jive with most of the rest of the film.

But what really got stuck in my head was the DV cam (or whatever they used) cityscape shot before we first see Rourke. What was up with that? :whofart:

I know! I saw that and was shocked that Stallone would allow that in his film. It looked like it was filmed with a web cam.
