Nobody cares to mention his role as Sully in Commando? He should have died last, damnit. Man was cheated.

Re: Glimpses of Brilliance in Otherwise Average Careers?

Carl Franklin directing 'One False Move'. I saw that modern crime masterpiece and thought 'wow, this guy is going to do great things'.

He did do 'One True Thing' too, a couple of Denzel movies, but he never took off as a director of note. And nothing matched 'One False Move'. The rest of his career is bit parts on TV shows, directing a few TV shows, etc. Last I heard of him was his directing one episode of HBO's 'The Pacific'.

But talk about brilliant, OFM totally qualifies.

The episode he directed was one of the better ones of the mini series

I think you're mistaken him for somebody else. He's definitely not fat or bald.

For the longest time now I thought this guy was David Patrick Kelly. Turns out he's Fulvio Cecere. LOL.

He was excellent in 'Flags of Our Fathers'. Granted a small role, but playing a president is something most actors fail at. He WAS Truman, and just nailed it.

David Patrick Kelly will always be Jerry Horne from Twin Peaks to me. Wish he'd work with Lynch again.

I believe Affleck and Damon wrote most of the script themselves.

Also, Christian Slater has been in a lot of great movies.

You could pretty much say the same thing about Lou Gossett, Jr. in An Officer and a Gentleman.
