I doubt it. His bad taste and use of grammar was also prominent in reviews for the new Nightmare on Elm Street where he claimed "I seen this with my five year olds, there was nothing scary about it."

I get the feeling Inception can hold pretty well. Seemed like a pretty good reaction from viewers at my theater, and even my girlfriend who's more of a chick flick type of gal came out enjoying the heck out of it.

I see that happening, too. Most people in the theater seemed to be in to and the lines were crazy. I'm sure it will hold solid numbers.

My IMAX audience seemed to like it as well. They gasped at the end, but after it they seemed to think it was awesome. However, this was in Orlando,FL , a pretty diverse area, as is CA and NY. I have a feeling Middle-America might feel differently.

somebody remembered me, I feel special. And it was 5 year old, singular not plural. I took my 5 year old son to see it with my wife. I was exposed to horror films at that age and nothing bad came of me. I was exposed to porn at 12 too and I have not raped or murdered anybody..............YET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Similar here. I'm down for Salt, Dawn Treader and maybe Expendables for the rest of the year. The experience just isn't worth what theaters are charging.

The theater here was way more crowded at 8:45 PM on Sunday than it was on Friday at the same time, struck me as a little unusual.

I love going to theaters, but was also a little surprised that it was up to $10 locally, I have a kickass home theater system, I may be using it more often in the future.

Horror movies were a big part of my childhood as well, wouldn't change a thing about that.

Yeah, that guy grates on my nerves as well... I find him far more annoying than Michael Cera, Jonah Hill, or Shia LeBeouf, to name a few similarly-aged actors that seem to get a lot more hate around here.

Re: Weekend Box Office (7/16-7/18): Another hit for Nolan

Well then that's interesting, Inception beat the $60m studio weekend estimates, and by a good bit (It made about $2m more on Sunday than was estimated.) I was expecting a little more front loading from the fanboy factor, plus the fact it got $3m in midnight showings, kind of impressive that it hit the same numbers on both Friday and Saturday (roughly $21.9m each day) and didn't take as much a dip on Sunday as anticipated ($19.2m)... curious to see how it will do during the week and into next weekend.

1 N Inception WB $62,785,337 - 3,792 - $16,557 $62,785,337 $160 1
2 1 Despicable Me Uni. $32,803,660 -41.8% 3,501 +25 $9,370 $118,434,555 $69 2

I wouldn't be shocked if it stays number one next week, as the only movie opening with any potential to beat it is Salt but i wouldn't be surprised if that one comes in second

Is Salt getting a lot of hype? I'm not that interested in it but are people rumbling about it?

Well, the fact that I'm eager to see SALT should tell you something about its commercial prospects. And if I wind up liking it, its prospects will decrease even further.

Re: Weekend Box Office (7/16-7/18): Another hit for Nolan

Hollywood insiders seem to be hyping up Salt more than regular viewers are, it is standing pretty well with critics thus far too. My sister is looking forward to it, though I'm sure it doesn't hurt that she lives in NYC and they've been advertising Salt for months now (massive posters, the big "SALT MUST DIE" bus posters, etc; ) I'm kind of indifferent to it, but considering how weak this year has been in terms of big budget cinema, I'd considering seeing it, could be fun.

I'd guess a $30m opening. They did a very solid job on the gender reassignment (originally intended for Tom Cruise, so I guess it wasn't that much of a stretch), Jolie seems like a natural pick for the role. Now we just have to endure the terrible title puns in the reviews, so far:

"Salt will raise your blood pressure."
"A spy thriller more than worth its salt." (stretching it, but I know what he was aiming for.)

Salt looks terrible, and I loathe that title.

I can't see it topping Inception in it's 2nd weekend.

Incepcion pulled an additional $10.2m on Monday, not too shabby!

I thought Salt was originally going to be an R-rated action flick. I saw in the latest commercial it's only PG-13.. I'll wait for the inevitable Unrated DVD.
