Monica Barbaro is on board to join Tom Cruise and Miles Teller in Paramount-Skydance’s “Top Gun: Maverick.”

Barbaro was one of several actresses that tested with Teller last week before the studio finally made the decision over the weekend.

“Oblivion” helmer Joe Kosinski is directing the film, a sequel to the 1986 original “Top Gun.” Jerry Bruckheimer, who produced the first film with the late Don Simpson, will produce with Cruise and Skydance CEO David Ellison.

This latest project will be set in a world of drone technology and will explore the end of the era of dogfighting, with Cruise portraying a flight instructor. In late May, Cruise posted a photo of himself in front of what appeared to be a Boeing F/A-18 Super Hornet.

Barbaro is said to be a pilot who is also Teller’s love interest in the pic.

Val Kilmer will reprise his role as Tom “Iceman” Kazansky in the sequel, which is set to be released on July 12, 2019.

Barbaro first broke out playing a contestant on Season 2 of “Unreal” and has several other TV projects including “Chicago Justice” and “The Good Cop.” This would be her first major film project.

She is repped by Innovative Artist and Main Title Entertainment.

Thomasin McKenzie (Jojo Rabbit), Charles Parnell (A Million Little Pieces), Jay Ellis (Insecure), Bashir Salahuddin (GLOW), Danny Ramirez (Assassination Nation), and Monica Barbaro (The Good Cop) are being set to join the ensemble opposite Tom Cruise, Val Kilmer, Glen Powell, Jennifer Connelly and Miles Teller.

The Joseph Kosinski-directed film is slated for release July 12, 2019.

The script was written by Peter Craig, Justin Marks and Eric Warren Singer. Jerry Bruckheimer is producing with Cruise and Skydance’s David Ellison.

McKenzie, who’ll play the daughter of Connelly’s character, is repped by UTA, Industry and Untitled. Parnell, who’ll play an admiral, is repped by Greene & Associates;

Ellis, who’ll play a pilot, is repped by UTA and Rise Management. Salahuddin, who plays an engineer, is with CAA. Ramirez, who’ll play a pilot, is repped by Abrams Artists and Industry Entertainment. Barbaro, who’ll play another Top Gun pilot, is with Innovative and Main Title Entertainment.

The danger zone is getting a little more crowded.

Jon Hamm, Ed Harris and Lewis Pullman (son of actor Bill Pullman) have joined Top Gun: Maverick, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Details on their roles are being kept a mystery.

The Tom Cruise sequel is from director Joseph Kosinski, who helmed the star's 2013 sci-fi thriller Oblivion. Other actors already enlisted for the film include Val Kilmer, Miles Teller, Jennifer Connelly and Glen Powell.

Hamm, known for AMC's Mad Men, recently starred in the action comedy Tag, while Harris' HBO sci-fi drama Westworld wrapped its second season in June. Pullman's credits include the horror film The Strangers: Prey at Night and a role in the upcoming Catch-22 miniseries.

Top Gun: Maverick opens July 12, 2019
