Tango & Cash sequel?
Sylvester Stallone is desperate to team up with Kurt Russell for a sequel to 1989 movie Tango & Cash.
The Hollywood stars played Los Angeles policemen who had to clear their names after being framed for murder in the action film. Sylvester enjoyed working with Kurt, and is keen for them to reprise their roles as Lieutenant Raymond Tango and Lieutenant Gabriel Cash respectively.
“Sly thinks there is still a story to be told with Tango and Cash and the chemistry between the two characters would be even more interesting now they are older,” a source explained.
The two actors have stayed friends since shooting the original film, and have already discussed working together again. Kurt is just as keen on the idea as Sylvester, and has already started thinking of a possible plot for the movie.
“Sly is still good friends with Kurt and, like Sly, he is interested in making an old-fashioned detective/buddy movie,” the source added. “There's a very good chance it will happen.”

Now, I know this is more than likely some b.s. statement intended the chum the waters and gauge interest, and most likely won't end up happening. But I think it would be fucking awesome to see a new action flick starring Stallone & Russell in theaters.

Kurt could use a good starring action role. One that fits his age. I mean, look at John Wayne, he was an action star well into his 60s, despite being old, fat, and having only one lung (he lost the other to cancer). And he won an Oscar for TRUE GRIT, which he filmed when he was about 61.

I would love, love, love to see another Kurt Russell action flick.
I thought the original was a good '80s buddy-cop movie. I would happily go see another flick with Stallone and Russell playing Tango & Cash.

My god...this would be AMAZING.
I may be the only person in the world (other than Stallone) who desperately wants a Tango and Cash sequel. Make it happen, Sly!

I would love to see this happen. Especially if they brig back the gun-boot and that arsenal-van (or was it a truck?)!

Tango & Cash was the worst fucking 80s cop buddy action movie, so bad that it pretty much killed the genre altogether.
That said, if they are going to do a sequel, forget Sly & Kurt and focus on the Michael J. Pollard character exclusively.

I'm not sold on this idea. Tango & Cash is a great guilty pleasure, but I don't need to spend any additional time with those characters. That time has long since passed.
Should Stallone and Russell pair up for a different film, I'd be okay with that. They had great chemistry, and I'd like to see Russell on the screen more often.
Just stop relying on nostalgia, Stallone. You're better than that.

Dreadful idea. The first one was awful and the years haven't been kind to either star. Neither of these leathery old coots would be believable in a modern action buddy movie (this aint The Expendables!)

T&C was a guilty pleasure, but I'm guessing it'd be painful to get thru nowadays. I'd be all for the reunion in Expendables 2, or a diff movie altogether... a western would be great.

Won't be the same without Palance and James ..and the haggardly looking Stallone isn't a huge selling point to me. But after seeing what Stallone did by bringing back a little 80's gold in Rambo, I'm all in for a little nostalgic trip.

I'm for Sly and Russell doing a movie together, but not a Tango and Cash sequel. 21 years have passed, I don't think anyone was begging for it and doubt that Warner Bros would greenlight it.

All we have is that quip about his manager saying no. Well who the fuck cares about that person!?!? Did Russell say no? I mean seriously...he did Death Proof which reminded us all how badass he was..and he won't do The Expendables? Out of all the casting for it...knowing KR didn't want to be in it..just boggles my fucking mind.
