Definitely didn't need a remake for this film. Original is rad.

I'm always in for some inventive death scenes and gore, so maybe I'll give this one a look?

I Spit was awesome primarily because Camille Keaton looked AMAZING in it. She also plays a part in Savage Vengeance: I Spit on Your Grave 2, though she looked blah 15 years later ....

So they're remaking a film which features one of the longest, painful rape sequences ever commited to film? And we needed this why? I'd say name recognition, but the only people who know the title also remember it because of the rape. Not exactly something to build your brand on.

Of course I do, I'm one of them! Horror is my lifesblood. But I really can't see why they'd pick this film, aside from having a memorable title. Well, shit, actually, I think I just answred my own question.

I Spit on Your Grave, a remake of the 1980 movie of the same name, received an R rating for "pervasive strong sadistic brutal violence, rape and torture, nudity and language."

New one will probably follow most other remakes: violence, brief torture, and language. Little Nudity. You can bet this one was picked due to the title.

Rape and toture have never been more welcomed, count me in!

I haven't seen the original (i know shame on me :P) but i had heard of it before and it's cult status so i wanted to check this one out and it was pretty good. While i can't compare both movies, i can at least say the remake was a good movie in it's own right.



I assume if someone really loves and worships the original just the idea of this remake makes them wanna spit on it but as a movie on it's own it was good.

The Actress and director were present and there was a Q & A and they said Anchor Bay will distribute the movie in october in it's uncut unrated form (which is what i saw) the MPAA wanted over 100 cuts to turn it into an R and they refused, so it's coming out unrated in theaters.

My memory of the original is hazy, but those are all different than the original I think.

Regardless, sounds like a great date movie.

I've got to give AB props for working to release this uncut. From what I've been reading, it's well-shot and incredibly gritty. I might have to check it out after all. Not like I hold the original in such high regard or anything, this just seemed pointless to me. Glad to know it's not neutered.
