DVDTalk Draft Round 1 (Tarantino vs Groucho)
Hello voter! Please vote for the team of characters that you like better. It's all personal preference. If one character on the list ruins a team for you and you select the other team based on that alone, so be it (although it would be preferred that you look at the team as a whole )
We would love to hear feedback and why you chose one team over another. Feel free to comment, ask questions, criticize, etc.

Groucho for having more variety (many of Tarantino's picks are great, but the list is very heavily weighted to action), and for Rufus T. Firefly, who may have my favorite line in all of cinema.

Tarantino just for having Batman, lol. Leon, Bourne and Rocky are bonuses.

Yeah, had to go with Tarantino. Batman, the Bride, and Rocky were enough to push me toward that list. Besides, Groucho voted against me, so...

Re: DVDTalk Draft Round 1 (Tarantino vs Groucho)
I went with Groucho.. it wasn't so much his lineup.. it was the lineup of the other roster..
Tarentino Started off awesome.. Batman, leon and the bride were amazing picks.. but after that it was all downhill.. and groucho's lineup stays steady thoughout!

Re: DVDTalk Draft Round 1 (Tarantino vs Groucho)
The only matchup in which I abstain. Neither lineup does anything for me. Two superheroes, and that's not counting Rocky and Bourne? Nope. Too easy. And Groucho's list just seems like it's trying too hard.
Two extremes, no middle ground. I abstain.

I voted for Groucho the minute I saw Rocky Balboa on Tarantino's list.

Re: DVDTalk Draft Round 1 (Tarantino vs Groucho)
Tarantino
1. Batman (various actors, Batman franchise, 1966-2008) Boring choice, but not horrible.
2. Leon (Jean Reno, Leon, 1994) Good!
3. Beatrix "The Bride" Kiddo (Uma Thurman, Kill Bill I & II, 2003-2004) Cool.
4. Jason Bourne (Matt Damon, Bourne trilogy, 2002-2007) I suppose. Only saw the first one. Can't take that fight editing.
5. Spiderman (Tobey McGuire, Spiderman franchise, 2002-present) This is becoming monotonous. But, ok, Spiderman...
6. Mindy Macready/Hit-Girl (Chloe Moretz, Kick Ass, 2010) Kind of early for this? Who did she bump off your favorites list? The movie just came out!! Haven't seen it. I heard she says "****". Woo hoo.
7. Dirk Diggler (Mark Wahlberg, Boogie Nights, 1997) Good choice. The best film ever made.
8. Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone, Rocky franchise, 1976-2006) Well.. jeez. Another one-dimensional superhero?
9. Sherlock Holmes (various actors, various films, 1916-present) I don't know.
10. Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson, Lethal Weapon franchise, 1987-1998) Um.. I have some memory of the first one and he had war flashbacks.. I guess that means he's tortured inside, or something? And now he's somewhat cynical but with a heart of gold? Ok.
Groucho
1. Rufus T. Firefly (Groucho Marx, Duck Soup, 1933) Hm.. yes. Fine. I'm sure I'll catch it on TCM someday.
2. Frau Blucher (Cloris Leachman, Young Frankenstein, 1974) Never seen it.
3. Wong Fei-hung (various actors, various films, 1949-present) You got me.. never heard of him/her.
4. Joan of Arc (various actors, various films, 1928-present) Ok.
5. Oh Dae-su (Choi Min-sik, Oldboy, 2003) Wait, isn't this that movie that inspired the guy to shoot up his college? Yeah, pass.
6. Marge Gunderson (Frances McDormand, Fargo, 1996) Not a bad choice.
7. Phyllis Dietrichson (Barbara Stanwyck, Double Indemnity, 1944) Didn't see it, but her character in Baby Face was fun.
8. Blake (Alec Baldwin, Glengarry Glen Ross, 1992) I will see this someday.
9. Annie Hall (Diane Keaton, Annie Hall, 1977) Not a bad choice.
10. The Little Tramp (Charlie Chaplin, various films, 1914-1936) Who knows? Haven't seen it.
