Oldboy was a 2003 movie, not 2005. I get sick of seeing foreign films only being recognized for their US releases.

I've seen 92 of the Modern List and 90 of the all-time list. I'm sure there's someone that's seen all of them.

I've seen 58 films on this list, a surprisingly high figure, considering that they left out most of my favorites from this period, esp. KILL BILL VOL. 1. And for 1997 they list the two films I most hated from that year, TITANIC and L.A. CONFIDENTIAL, and none of the films I loved: JACKIE BROWN, FACE/OFF, DECONSTRUCTING HARRY, CONTACT and KUNDUN. I like that there were a lot of Asian films, but I would have put even more, e.g. TOKYO GODFATHERS. And two or three POKEMON movies.

And BORAT is included, but not one single Jason Statham movie?! Outrageous!

Re: Yahoo's top 100 modern movies to see before you die

Seen 92 on the modern list (anchorman being one of the ones I haven't seen so I guess I can't judge it), and 97 on the other.

For being a list, the modern list isn't terrible, at least by my taste. A lot of my favorites on there.

I've seen 61 the films. Pretty good list.

Well, Wall-E was pretty much universally adored, though I didn't like it quite as much as seemingly everyone else on the planet. I would've swapped it out for The Incredibles or Up.

And that's the only year on the list where I didn't see any of their selections. Because of that I can't comment on their "worthiness", but perusing Wikipedia's list of '02 films, it wasn't that great of a year for movies. I'd put in maybe 24 Hour Party People, 28 Days Later, About a Boy, and/or The Bourne Identity (though there's already a Bourne film on the list, this is my favorite. Using a tripod FTW!)

It's one of my favorite comedies from the '00s.

Yikes. Anchorman is the worst from the list and in recent years. Glad to see Lola Rennt getting some attention.

Re: Yahoo's top 100 modern movies to see before you die

Can we all agree that there have been enough lists of things to do or see "before you die". You're not actually going to get to these things "after" you die, are you? Isn't it enough to just say these are great movies to be seen? Why the stupid "before you die" phrase?
