1913 Silent Film found in NH barn
According to Yahoo news, a barn in New Hampshire was about to be demolished. The owner went out and cleaned some stuff up and came across this film that was well preserved from 1913. It's was a 30 minute silent film about Abe Lincoln played by Francis Ford. He was John Ford's brother. The film is 1 of 8 that starred Ford as Lincoln. The others are nowhere to be found. The film has been restored at a college.

Oh, you could get your wish. I hear Abe Lincoln was totally into bestiality. You won't read THAT in the history books!

I thought Lincoln was accurately described by the family in "I'm Gonna Get You Sucka." Everything else I read about him now is just filler.

Back in 1913, there weren't a lot of purpose-built theaters outside of cities. People who wanted to show movies would use any large interior space they could find, and barns were perfect. Remember, at the time all you really needed to show movies was a projector, a white sheet on a clothesline, and some chairs.

Another cool find:
A man in England bought a film canister on eBay for $5 and it turned out that it contained a lost Chaplin propaganda short from 1916.
