I think that's the bigger success story though...

WB will probably wish they'd made a $20 Million Jesus movie too, if Clash doesn't hold up well next week.

Nice numbers for Clash, even though it apparently sucks. I'm still going to see it for myself tomorrow.
Tyler Perry is black, but so is Spike Lee,John Singleton and they never got this kind of support for their films. You know why?
Church goers support his movies.

He may lose the box-office here but he's getting big points in heaven.

If going to heaven meant I'd be in the company of Tyler Perry, you can send me straight to hell, thanks.

Word of mouth for Titans is horrible. I expect a Big drop off next week and the whole coversion to 3-D really irks me. I think I will wait until DVD.

Why did this thread turn into a religion bashing session?

Just saying, a good monster movie doesn't need that much of a large budget.
I would almost say, the smaller the budget, the better the monster movie. The best kind is the one that barely even shows the monster, and relies on your imagination for more effective scares.

I always love that a Mod takes just about any opportunity to slight religion, especially Christianity. Way to call it down the middle sir, as always.

It's not like his movies are targeted at you so why do care? Besides, this one didn't even have that much "faith" stuff in it. I don't care for his "faith" stuff in his films either but I'm not his target.

Jesus fucking christ, I didn't even really know that Tyler Perry's stuff was that religious.

Look out, everyone! My name's Suprmallet and I'm the Edgy Mod around these parts! I hope my rebellious, in-your-face attitude isn't too much for you to handle!

I've never made a moderating decision based on someone's personal beliefs. If my posts aren't specified as a note from a mod, they're a personal post. And Tyler Perry pisses me the hell off.

People, people! This is the box office thread; you're not supposed to be bashing religion or irreverent mods here. Let's keep things in perspective.

A 3D movie was #1 yet again. You're supposed to decry 3D as a stupid gimmick and predict the end of cinema forthwith.

I think it'll hold right at 60%. It did have a Saturday drop of 18%. Less than Watchmen's 25%, but more than 300's 12%. 300 had almost a 54% drop in weekend 2. Watchmen had a near 68% drop.

I'm sure part of the drop was due to word of mouth. I wonder if the NCAA Final Four had any effect.

Worth making note of - hyped R rated movies are known for their Friday-to-Saturday drops, it's less common with PG-13.

There was nothing "religion-bashing" about Suprmallet's remarks. He was just making a witty inference from the fact that Zeus beat out Jesus at the boxoffice. That's amusing. Lighten up, people.

No, actually there was a rather obvious attempt at "religion-bashing" in his comment. Personally, I take no offense at it, though. If someone wants to bash my religion, that is his character flaw, not mine.

How in the world is Jesus remotely related to Tyler Perry's movie?
