I love both, but after repeated viewings the flashback period where Bruce goes from a kid wanting revenge to a trained ninja gets a little tiring. The Dark Knight, on the other hand, has such a great sense of momentum and an unfolding narrative that it always feels fresh to me.

I loved Heath Ledger's performance in the Dark Knight but pretty much cringe whenever Batman is onscreen. I can't say I love the movie, Bale's Batman voice and the whole "make them think I'm the bad guy" logic kills it for me, but Ledger's Joker makes it more watchable than Begins.

I've seen each of them once, when they came out theatrically, and haven't bothered with a repeat viewing of either, so I can't answer the question since I don't know what a repeat viewing experience would be like for either. I liked BATMAN BEGINS a lot and disliked DARK KNIGHT, but I'm guessing that if I saw DARK KNIGHT again, I might appreciate it more. For one thing, it doesn't have Katie Holmes in it.

pretty much this. Also..Gordon in the Batmobile...it just irks me everytime, not badly..it just bothers me.

I've seen the Dark Knight numerous times on Blu. Begins, maybe once right before watching TDK in the theater.

Dammit, this just reminds me that I bought the TDK blu in the Target "mask case" and haven't watched it since release day. Guess I should sell it.

TDK easily. Even though it's long, it doesn't feel like it ever lets up. It's just BAM BAM BAM one beat after another.

I really enjoyed Batman Begins, but as a whole I don't think it holds up all that well for me, much like Spider-man 1. I bet a fan-edit of that movie would make it infinitely more rewatchable.

Both are fantastic films and probably the best two comic movies ever made. I love em both, but would give a slight edge to TDK.

Begins was fun the first and even second time because it was so different, but subsequent viewings it's quite a dull film.

TDK by a wide margin.

Batman Begins easily.

i've seen it probably 5 or 6 times since '05 (which is a lot for me), always have the urge to see it and in fact have in queued for this weekend.

The Dark Knight, while incredible, loses the wow! factor i had with BB.

I have to admit, I've only seen The Dark Knight three times so far: once in a theater, once on DVD (the day it was released) and once on Blu-ray (which we bought on Black Friday last year). I was excited to see it each time, but I have to say...it's not easy to work up that kind of excitement to re-watch it often. It's one of those movies where I have to have the right state of mind and that's just not often. And, yes, Ledger's Joker was great, but I think it's a shame that Aaron Eckhart's performance as Harvey Dent gets completely ignored. There are a lot of nuances there as the sunny face of optimism masking the darker side of torment.

With Batman Begins, I've seen it in the same three ways as The Dark Knight, but I've watched it a few times on DVD and even caught it on DVD (twice!) while I was hospitalized in '08 on TV (FX? Spike? Don't recall.). I still think the end is weak (sorry, but anything that vaporizes water through concrete should make short work of people's flesh), but the dynamics between Bale and Neeson and Bale and Caine are great to watch.

I guess, then, my track record to date makes it clear: I have to vote for Batman Begins.

Batman Begins is a lot cornier than I remember it being when I first saw it. You can just tell when watching both movies that Chris Nolan had much more control over the Dark Knight and it is a much better film. I can't see myself rewatching BB again in the near future.

Well put, I feel the same way. TDK is intense. Batman Begins is more about Batman than other characters, and is more watcheable to me (it doesnt mean its a better film). It helps that I am a batman fan.
However, I've found the opening bank heist scene in TDK to be very rewatcheable too.
