The Blues Brothers is, of course, the right answer, but Fletch should probably be on that list somewhere.

Can that be, with just 11 votes? Ghostbusters seems to be the right answer, as that one has 38 votes.

Of course, Dan Aykroyd starred in "Driving Miss Daisy."

A great parody would be having all the former SNL stars reprising the "Dan Aykroyd role" in Driving Miss Daisy. Here's the line they'd have to deliver: "You're a doodle, mama."

No love for Meatballs? The crazy sex-crazed camp counciler "with a heart of gold." He stands up for Rudy (the rabbit), inspires him to run! To have the underdog win the race and win all the kids at camp as his friend! All in what seemed to be the 2nd to last day of camp.

No love for Meatballs 2?

The story of Flash, a tough, inner city punk, and Meathead a naive and kindly alien, and their crazy misadventures at Camp Sasquash over the summer.

The answer, my friend, is blowing in the subject header of this thread.

Well, I counted my vote as 100 votes, so it all worked out in the end. ;)

Ghostbusters, The Jerk, The Blues Brothers, Fletch and Beverly Hills Cop are all genuine classics -- they're all both very funny comedies, and legitimately compelling movies. Once you've seen those five films, anything else is just icing on the cake.

I should also say that Steve Martin is funnier than anyone who ever came out of SNL, with the possible exceptions of Bill Murray and Phil Hartman.

But he was never a cast member.

I'll vote for Caddyshack, followed by Vacation.

Can't believe there's not more love for Animal House. My favorite of all time (maybe tied w/ MP & Holy Grail).

From the list (some of my all-time favorite comedies):
1. Animal House
2. Caddyshack
3. Stripes.

and not as funny, but still entertaining
4. Trading Places
5. Ghostbusters
6. Vacation
7. Meatballs
8. Blues Brothers

Three Amigos and Neighbors are OK, but not great.

However, I've never seen "Spies Like Us". I did see an ad for it on WGN and it looked really good -- "Doctor ... doctor .... doctor ... doctor ... doctor ... doctor ... doctor ... "
