I was watching a pretty bad dtv zombie movie "Dead Air", and one of the leads looked awfully familiar... turns out it was David Moscow:



who played the younger version



of Tom Hanks in "Big".



Can't say he grew up close to resembling him at all. Curious if any child actor, cast to play a younger version of someone, ever ultimately grew up to resemble that actor at all.

Also wonder if an actor has ever been 'aged' in a part and when the actually grow to that age, do they look like the make-up made them look.

My favorite mis-matched young/old casting in this regard:

Mickey Rooney as young Clark Gable in MANHATTAN MELODRAMA (1934)
Donald O'Connor as young Gary Cooper in BEAU GESTE (1939)
Natalie Wood as young Virginia Mayo in THE SILVER CHALICE (1954)

But then there's Lana Wood as the younger version of her older sister Natalie in THE SEARCHERS (1956). That worked.

And when they needed to cast someone to play young James Cagney in ANGELS WITH DIRTY FACES (1938), they got a teenage actor, Frankie Burke, who looked just like Cagney and managed a suitable vocal impression as well.

And let's not forget young Jennifer Connelly in ONCE UPON A TIME IN AMERICA (1984). Her performance was so strong that it completely overshadowed the actress who played her as a grown-up, Elizabeth McGovern.
