In what is more prove that Hollywood has run out of ideas and executives are becoming dumber by the minute, Mannequin and Weekend at Bernies are being remade for this new ADD, can't seem to watch anything older than 15 years generation. Really, this 2 films are being remade.

And Mannequin with Taylor Swift, her gay boyfriend from the Twilight series and John Travolta.

If they do a gender reversal with Mannequin and cast Hayden Christiansen... I smell Oscar buzz!

Well, I enjoy both Weekend at Bernie's movies but I don't see the point of a remake. I'd prefer a 3rd direct-to-DVD sequel with the original cast.

I recently watched Weekend at Bernie's again after not having seen it for years. When I was little, I thought it was hilarious. When I rewatched it, it was awfully unfunny.

A remake would only be better.

Both movies are guilty pleasures.

I own both of those and the corresponding sequels. w/e with the remakes, although I'll end up watching them.

Methinks the old adage applies here, "you can't polish a turd".

Why not combine the two? Two guys' female boss dies and they replace her body with a mannequin version of herself that they have to convince everyone is alive. Then at the end one of the guy falls in love with the mannequin and it comes alive and they live happily ever after.

Give Mr. Cocktail a job in Hollywood!

Interestingly, Terry Kiser is best known as Bernie, however was also Count Spretzle in Mannequin 2: On the Move.

I'd almost swear I saw something like that as a kid.

They must have pulled Andrew McCarthy's name out of a hat this week and said "Let's remake some of his movies!".

Maybe next week we'll get some Jon Cryer remakes greenlit.

What's that John Cryer movie where he's bearded,chased by hitmen, and he shaves his beard and puts blonde streaks in his hair to pass for a highschool student? Remake that.

It would be hard to top Meshach Taylor as "Hollywood" in Mannequin.

Don Cheadle could pull it off if he digs deep.

Maybe they could make Weekend at Bernie's one of those remake/sequel hybrids. Two new characters, but have it be the same Bernie who died in the 80s... except he's been decomposing for 20 years.
