Re: How do you grade the Disney hand-drawn animated films?
I like Disney's really early work like Fantasia and Snow White. Jungle Book from the 60's was fun. I'm not a fan of anything they did in the 90's, but I guess Beauty & The Beast is ok.

These are all interesting movies and should be seen by fans of any other Disney animation. The three last ones: MAKE, FUN, MELODY, are all FANTASIA-style compilations of short segments based primarily on musical pieces, including popular music of the time. One of them has a segment animated to a Benny Goodman jazz piece that's great fun. I'd have to go look up these in detail when I get home to recall the other significant segments. I have Maltin's book, "The Disney Films," which has chapters on each. Also, one of them had an animated version of "Casey at the Bat."

I've seen many of the segmants. These features were later split up into shorts and played on TV and released on video, but I've never seen them assembled into their complete feature versions. And the existing DVD's are all altered in one way or another so I've skipped them.
