Heh. I highly recommend checking it out, it's sort of like a sci-fi Pan's Labyrinth. Incredible story structure (a complex tale, but told in a very simple way; does a great job of showing you explanations instead of spelling them out in boring exposition), beautiful cinematography, great score. My personal favorite movie I've seen this year. I admit I'm a huge sucker for film's written/directed/composed/edited all by one person for a cheap budget (Primer is also one of my favorite movies). Would be interested to read other's opinions on it.
If you haven't seen it, I encourage you to rent it at least (I got my blu-ray copy from Netflix).

Well that's enough of a recommendation that I just put it in my queue (bumped into the #4 spot).
I'm a bit leery because Brendan Fraser hasn't made a decent movie in a while

Yeah, this is definitely NOT Inkheart.
It's just "Ink"
Don't watch Inkheart. I haven't seen it and I'm not recommending it.

I just got in from Netflix. It was ok. Although Elisabeth Shue is as hot as usual and it is always cool to see Terence Stamp chew up the scenery I didn't think the chimpanzee animatronic effects were very realistic. It simply did not scare me at all. 4 out of 10.

Hey, I saw this movie. The story was really great, as were the art direction, and fight scenes. Would have made an incredible anime. Very inventive, clever, and emotional. Check this one out!

I saw it after reading a review on a film site and I liked it overall, but thought the movie didn't match the hype. I understand the budget of the film was only 250,000 dollars, but it still felt like it was made by a grad student in film college.
The story and acting is melodramatic and pretentious at times, and it felt like the actors came from some local public theater. The fight scenes are mediocre at best...it's pretty obvious none of these actors/actresses are trained.
Ok you might be wondering why I said I liked it overall haha. Again, considering the budget, the effects are pretty good and the story regarding the broken relationship between a father and daughter is heartwarming and tragic.
If you can overlook the constraints of the budget it's a nice little film.

For those interested, full movie (hit play for full screen option, or use Play On to your 360/PS3/etc; )
