 I got the BD for like $5 years ago, but never watched it. I guess I shouldn't bother now that it was all some made up lie.

Lies, indeed! Bullock's ass cheeks have never been that high and tight IRL.

Unfortunate but it was 15 years ago why is he just now speaking up/suing?

Because he just found out in February.

The Touhy's just signed up for a new family cell plan and left him off, and he got suspicious.

I think Oher has long criticized the film as not accurate so this new issue is no shock.

Right, I've read that over the years as well. Just seems weird to wait until now to sue.

What is the new issue? I honestly don't know, just wondering what triggered his action.

Or just ran out of money.

The guy had a nice NFL career, has written a couple of books and speaks on a motivational speaking tour. I doubt money is his issue.

He chafed at the dumb, near mentally disabled, black kid that was adopted by the white angels ever since he was portrayed that way in the movie. I think this conservatorship vs actually being adopted thing was the final nail for him thus the lawsuit.

Dare we say that Michael Oher just got....(wait for it) BLIND SIDED!

I haven't read the articles about this yet but do they mention how whatever agency was dealing with his adoption allowed it to happen?

According to various public sources, Oher’s net worth is $16 million

Big article here from ESPN.

I am assuming that since he was 18 when he signed the papers, an adoption agency wasn't involved.

There was no agency.

Gotcha. I wasn't aware he was 18 at the time. I don't think I ever saw the movie but I was aware of the story.

Why is this relevant? It should've been his money. It's his story.

It's also Leigh Anne Tuohy's story, and Sean Tuohy' story. It's the little son's story, the tutor's story, the football coach's story. They are all real people who are characters in the movie, which does not claim to be a true story, but just based on one.

They are lucky it came out in 2009 and was a theatrical release that made a lot of money.

If it came out today it would end up on Disney + and less revenue for the Tuohy family.

I can't imagine working my way to the very top tier of such a physically intensive sport and then a movie studio is like "hey, we got this big fat guy to play you."
