2012 kicked some serious ass (and it needed to), A Christmas Carol held up extremely well.

Precious continues to impress, #4 on only 174 screens.

I swear this was a repost, but I couldn't find the thread I was thinking of.

Doubtful that Pirate Radio will expand much more with numbers like that.

/\ It's only on 4 screens, but its PSA was $65,000. The full expansion comes on or around Thanksgiving.

It won't. New Moon will rake in 65 million EASY, if not a few bucks more. Huge opening weekend, regardless of quality.

I know WTWA had a big budget so it's probably a flop in that respect, but it's still nice to see it make as much at the BO as it has.

It's unfortunate too. It's a terrific movie (and to think, I thought it would've done much better than that, considering Richard Curtis' reputation).

Well, I think they should've waited a few more weeks. I knew opening it against 2012 was essentially suicide

Clooney wasn't in Paranormal Activity and that has profited hand over fist, clearly he is on to something.

Are you suggesting his involvement with Goats and Foxes is on the same level as if Richard Gere were in G-Force?

Cheesy is fun when done right, plus $260m can buy a lot of eye candy.

New Moon looks to be the wrong kind of cheesy (read: still cheesy, but boring) but will bank thanks to the massive female fan base. I joked with a friend's girlfriend that the second Twilight movie was canned because the first one tanked. She believed me for a sec and got panicked, wtf is up with that?
