Sorry, not a movie, but the BBC series "Jekyll" from a couple years ago (1 season, 6 episodes) was well-received. I haven't watched it, but I ordered the DVDs recently.

I doubt this is on DVD, but while I didn't find it as being as extemely great, the Michael Caine mini-series (I think it aired in the late 80's/early 90's) had some good moments. Especially the unexpected final shot. A little cheesy by today's standards, but it certainly gave me a bit of a chill when I first saw it.

I actually liked Mary Reilly, although it wasn't critically acclaimed.

to be honest...Julia Roberts has never acted amazingly. She's average acting w/ interesting characters. I did like her in Closer though...but Clive Owen totally overshadowed her by his acting performance.

The best Hyde film is still the 1920 silent John Barrymore version. There are number of public domain versions out there, but the Kino edition is probably the best visually.
I also like the Hammer film Dr Jekyll and Sister Hyde (1970) which features good acting and direction.
I, Monster with Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing is also a solid effort.
Finally, there is a very good live television drama from the mid 1950s starring Michael Rennie and Cedric Hardwicke which is one of the most incredible productions I have ever seen. Again there are several public domain versions out there.

If interested in a T&A version check out Misty Mundae in "Dr. Jekyll & Mistress Hyde".

I just watched The Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll (1960) for the first time. I'm pretty sure this is the only Jekyll/Hyde movie in existence where Dr. Jekyll has more makeup on than Mr. Hyde.
