I'll give you, QoS was weak, but nothing in the Brosnan era can even touch Casino Royale.

And yet CASINO ROYALE came straight from the novel, albeit with an extended intro.
Also i thought Brosnan was a good Bond and Die Another Day was entertaining. On Her Majesty's Secret Service is a great one agreed totally, the deeper theme yet also retain that pulpyness.
The Fleming books were not pulp novels.
