The Crazies Trailer

Looks pretty good, I like the choice of music in the trailer too. |
Re: The Crazies Trailer
I agree, looks cool. It's been a while since I last watched Romero's version, but I remember thinking it was kinda boring and slow. I'll likely watch it again before seeing this, but I def like the look of this new one and the casting. I spoke with one of the lead Crazies at a convention a couple months ago and he showed me some pics of his on-set makeup. Pretty gruesome stuff.

Re: The Crazies Trailer
I'm definitely intersted in seeing this.

Re: The Crazies Trailer
besides ripping off donnie darko by using gary jules' version of "mad world" i think it looks pretty good.

I like trailers like that with a music montage of action and a melancholy song. Reminds me of the recent Last House trailer with Taken By Trees's Sweet Child O' Mine. I look forward to this. |
Re: The Crazies Trailer
Looks like how The Happening should have been.
|
Re: The Crazies Trailer
The trailer looked good, I'll probably see it in the theater.

written by Ray Wright (Pulse, Case 39) and Scott Kosar (The Amityville Horror, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre) Sounds like it has alot of potential. :sarcasm: |

Re: The Crazies Trailer
I liked Sahara and the first The Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake.
This looks about as good as a movie of its caliber deserves to look. |
Re: The Crazies Trailer
Looks very good. But what a horrible choice of song for that movie.

And here's the trailer from trailer addict - I think it looks good:

Re: The Crazies Trailer
^ why would they put such an "iconic" song in the trailer, as soon as you hear it you automatically think of another movie. A better movie.
Well, at least they didn't use Lux Aeterna.. |

Well, at least they didn't use Lux Aeterna.. When I hear that song, I think of Gears of War from that AD they had a while back. I still think that song fits well with the trailer. |

Re: The Crazies Trailer
I'm a fan of Rahda Mitchell and Timothy Olyphant, so I'll see it. Can't say I'm too pleased with them seemingly turning this into another zombie flick though.
|
Re: The Crazies Trailer
I saw the original film a few months ago and did not like it. But I am really looking forward to the remake after seeing the trailer.
|
Re: The Crazies Trailer
Guess I'm in the minority in the thread, I really like Romero's original. Maybe because of the spot it takes in his career as a transitional piece, but I can really see the bridging of Night and Dawn in it. It has some interesting plot elements and the story is twisted. I think a remake can be good though. Looks like they took the premise and just ran with it.

And I think 28 Days Later was closer to The Crazies than to the Dead movies. |

Re: The Crazies Trailer
Not a true zombie flick ... it seems to fall into the "new-age living zombie" genre. There seems to be a shift taking zombies from the traditional "living dead" to a "dead living" monster ... rather than dying and becoming a re-animated corpse, a person is infected while alive and "changes." Examples would include 28 Days Later, Quarantine, The Signal, The Happening (to some extent) and Stephen King's novel "Cell."
Nonetheless, it looks pretty damn good ... somebody should cast Timothy Olyphant as a sheriff in a TV series. |

Re: The Crazies Trailer
Whoa. Where did this movie came from? Looks really good. I never saw Romero's movie, but the trailer on Youtube makes it looks cool (well, in Romero's way ... not for everyone).
|
Re: The Crazies Trailer
The thing I like about Romero's version is that it concerns itself with the chaotic bureaucracy of dealing with such an outbreak. This looks like it won't be too much more than a typical run-from-the-bad-guy, jump-scare, slasher film.

Also, the theme from Saw is popping up in a lot of random trailers, too. It just doesn't work for those films, though. That said, Clint Mansell and Charlie Clouser are making a killing off of the licensing, I'm sure, so good for them. Those guys need to do a project together. edit: have to add... that new trailer really makes me want to see a red-band trailer. :) |
Re: The Crazies Trailer
This movie looks great
|
Re: The Crazies Trailer
Saw the film today and it's a pretty good movie. Some genuinely tense moments, and the cast is great. Loved Timothy Olyphant's performance; it's basically Deadwood's Sheriff Bullock battling the infected (he plays the sheriff in this too).
My one complaint is the same in all infected/zombie movies...a character walks into a room and doesn't notice the infected/zombie behind them/standing in the corner/ etc., and they have to fight them off. And then they walk into another room and the same thing happens. It gets a little repetitive. But all in all, a fun flick that doesn't pull its punches on the violence either. I'd give it a solid B. |
