Eh, I have to agree on the Bay being great on action. I also have to give him his due when it comes to CGI. He doesn't tolerate crap like a lot of other directors.

I agree with this.

I forgot about the excessive camera swirling. He sure does love those kinds of shots.

JumpCutz, honestly why are you even going to bother seeing the movie? You've done nothing but dump on Bay and Transformers in general and make predictions about how much it's going to suck, so why even waste your time?

You obviously have a preconceived notion of what it's going to be like and chances are you're going to walk out of the movie with the same opinion of it as when you walked in. Then I'm sure you'll come here and post about how much it sucked.

Why not just save your 15 bucks or whatever it is?

I just can't imagine paying for and sitting through a movie you know you're going to hate. If I think a movie is going to suck I simply don't go.

That was a sweet spot.

I may have to hit this opening w/e. We already decided to go for a 3D show. I hope I am not wrong but this looks to be quite good.

Spoiler:
I 'think' he's referring to Sam being in Bumblebee as it transforms and being thrown out

Re: Transformers 3 Announced

I too like how Bay does action. The only time he gave into excess was in Bad Boys II (which I'm alone in hating). If you want a restrained Michael Bay, check out The Island (which I'm alone in loving).

As for big, long, and loud ending setpiece for the TF films, that's nothing new. The first film had almost a half hour (if not more) of action at the end once Starscream attacked the dam and Megatron was awakened. The second film had an even longer action finale (though the individual beats weren't as effective). Given this is his last outing directing a Transformers movie, I'm not surprised Bay is pulling out all the stops for this one. And given the action seen in the TV spots, I'm looking forward to it.

The bullshit in the clips being released, on the other hand, makes me think we're going to have to suffer through a lot of filler to there.

Maybe not, but he posted 18 times in this thread and, by my count, 12 were definitely negative.

We know you don't think it's going to be a good movie, but do you really have to say it 12 different times? Like I said, just don't go see it.

But...I'm sure you'll go see it, hate it and then come back here and post all the reasons why it sucked. Again, I think you should just skip it and do something else for 2.5 hours, but in any event we get it.

You are not alone. Bad Boys is my favorite Bay film. It was made before he went insane on the excess. The Rock is a close second, but has a few glimmers of ridiculousness. Bad Boys II was almost unwatchable and was the beginning of the end of my enjoyment of his films just because he made them.

However, I thought The Island was quite good and never understood the hate. I somehow saw the movie without knowing it was panned as badly as it was and enjoyed it thoroughly. It wasn't until later that I found out I wasn't supposed to like it.

What? Everybody hates that movie

I'm not forgetting that TF2 had an awesome trailer and some sweet TV spots. I'm still not convinced that this one will be worth the ticket price.

I'm surprised to find any fellow haters of BBII. Normally people around these parts worship the movie.

Looks like it. I think it works better that way.

These new clips are terrific. This thing is going to open huge next week and if word of mouth is decent, I think it'll cruise past $400 million. I wouldn't have said that prior seeing any of these new trailers and spots.

It's almost July and we haven't had anything come remotely close to $300 million in the US. This will likely blow past that fairly quickly.

I want it to open huge and have legs just so us box office nerds have something to crow about. This year hasn't been heavy on big #s.

even though he was speaking fine at the very end of TF1. Did they ever mention why he was a mute in TF2? I just think it's stupid cuz...you know..they've been here for years now..and Bumblebee still can't get his vocals fixed by Ratchet?

The writers were too busy writing 2 dog humping scenes, a robot humping scene, and Shia's mom getting high on brownies to worry about something as insignificant as Bumblebee's voice.

Bay and Cameron talk 3D. Getting excited for this...I didn't know that Cameron was the one that helped convince Bay. Not an insult to Bay, but since Cameron is such an expert, it seems like he knew more about Transformers 3 3D shooting than Bay himself.

I was thinking this may be the Transformers movie I'd like, but the commercial I saw tonight with the little 'funny' robot has me concerned.
