No, it's really not :(

Transformers 2 was waaaay more fun (the extra a's signify just how more fun it was!).

anyone on that song? i know it wasn't an easily recognizable song as the others were. i've looked on iTunes for a soundtrack listing, but seems there isn't one as yet.

I can't remember what songs played in what scene, but I do know there wasn't a single song in the movie I didn't recognize. Was it The Doves - 'Kingdom of Rust".

Fun movie, Woody was terrific. I enjoyed the showing of The Rules when appropriate too.
Is there another zombie movie...
Spoiler:
where NO major characters get zombified?

The cameo was a little silly and probably the weakest part, but I did laugh
Spoiler:
at Murray's dying regret about Garfield. Although he did do TWO of them.

Was it It's Only Wednesday by Crash Kings? I may be getting my scenes confused but I think that may be the one.

hearing the little bit on iTunes, i don't think so. i don't think it was as folksy. little more rock-ish. i could be wrong though.

Just got back and thought it was a hoot. It's not Shaun of the Dead, but I didn't expect it to be. Despite my view on running zombies, I really enjoyed it. :)

The cameo was great, don't get me wrong, I just wish I hadn't known about it already going in.

I know! That really pissed me off. Ever since I heard that there was a funny cameo I did my best to avoid reviews for this movie so as not to spoil it. And it's not like Letterman really got into any funny or interesting anecdotes about the cameo; the name was just dropped in passing and therefore totally unnecessary.

I don't really remember the music that played then, but here's the soundtrack listing: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1156398/soundtrack

So glad I avoided the "cameo" info, so when it came, it was a nice surprise and just added to the film's awesomeness.

Enjoyed "Zombieland" from the first reel and throughout its running time. If you don't enjoy this movie, you're in a coma, or a zombie.

I give it 3 stars, or a grade of B.

The Doves - Kingdom of Rust is definitely not "folksy".

Did anyone think Emma Stone looked a little like Sydney Savage from "Danger Girl" (a comic book title) by J. Scott Campbell? (the redheaded character below)

well, it isn't the rock that i thought i heard in that scene. again, i could be totally wrong and not remembering, but i did like it then. i dl'd KoR and just didn't think it was it/didn't love it too much.

ok: i think i narrowed it down to
"Gold Guns Girl" by Metric
<strike>"Salute Your Solution" by The Raconteurs</strike>
and still might by "Kingdom of Rust"

well, if anyone goes back for seconds try to listen to the song right when they are getting into California and report back.

Was it a guy or girl singing? That would narrow it down. If it was a girl with a sweet voice that would be Emily Haines & Metric.

Re: Zombieland (Fleischer, 2009) — The Reviews Thread

3.5/5

I'm giving it an extra half-star because of the most awesome cameo I've seen in ages, maybe ever.

I liked the film, mostly. Woody was awesome, as I had hoped. I'd love to see a sequel that focuses solely on his character. But I couldn't stand the lead kid. Sure, he had some moments that were genuinely funny, but overall he reminded me of Michael Cera. And I can't fucking stand Michael Cera. Plus, I thought the whole love story angle was cheesily handled and forced. But the gore was good, the kills were inventive and the movie as a whole was fun. I just don't think it's nearly as good as the hype had built it up to be.

Also, it was badass to hear some Metallica in a major movie. Such a rarity. I'm surprised they licensed it out.

They need to make a "I Hated Michael Cera Before It Was Cool To Hate Michael Cera" t-shirt.

disclaimer - I love Michael Cera.
