This looks so fucking awesome. So glad that The Rock is back to doing awesome action flicks. I hope he continues down this path --- he could easily become the greatest action star of all time.

Never seen the first movie (Perhaps I never will since every TV-channel refuses to show it) but this certainly does look better than the first movie's trailers.

The way the story goes (in the old comics) is that Zartan was hired by Cobra Commander to kill Snake Eyes (whom Cobra Commander blamed for his drunk driving brother's death). Zartan realized he was no match for Snake Eyes so he passed the contract to Firefly.

Firefly decided to use an arrow (which he stole from Storm Shadow's personal collection) to kill Snake Eyes. His hiding spot didn't afford clean line of sight so he used a device that could sense a person's heartbeat. Coincidentally, the Hard Master was privately demonstrating a technique to Snake Eyes in which he could mimick another person's heartbeat. As you can guess, Firefly accidentally killed the Hard Master, thinking he was Snake Eyes (and Storm Shadow was blamed).

Storm Shadow later joined Cobra in hopes of finding out who really killed the Hard Master and avenge his uncle's death.

You've got the roles reversed. It was Firefly who was originally hired to kill Snake-Eyes. He then approached Zartan and it was Zartan that originally loosed the arrow that killed the Hard Master. Firefly flew the helicopter that ferried Zartan away.

After looking at some pics it appears Snake-Eyes does indeed have lips again as the bottom half of his mask is black nylon fabric. I get why they did it that way, (so the actor doesn't die & he can show a bit more emotion) I just hope it isn't distracting like in the first movie.

In general, I'm very happy with his look. I like the armor plating much better then what they did before; I just would have like to see the shell extended I think (or, that might have looked silly so the scrapped it). Cobra Commander looks great. I think they managed to not make him look hokey which is a pretty tough task.

Is Joseph Gordon Levitt playing Cobra Commander this time around, or are they just going to keep the character silent? I guess Destro and Baroness will be left where they were at the end of the first installment. While Sienna Miller really did a great job with the character when she was evil, it kind of fell apart at the end. My wish would be

Hope he's more Cobra Commander and less Dr. Mindbender this time around.
While watching the first film, that's whome I assumed JGL was portraying. He even had the monocle and was revealed to be bald at the end. I expected Cobra Commander to be some mastermind behind the scenes that would reveal himself to be the Doctor's boss. That was dashed the moment they revealed the real Doctor Mindbender.

Honestly, Cobra Commander (who he turned out to be and how he looked at the end) is the only issue I have with the first movie.
