I'll be heading up as well. Mr. BD himself said he won't guarantee getting anyone in, so I may not have a string to pull after all. I just hope I don't drive all the fuck up there for nothing.

It's showing in Ann Arbor so I guess I won't need to "demand it"
The trailer looks good but I'll probably wait for the DVD and watch it during the day with all the lights on.

Unquestionably the best audience reaction to a film I've ever been at in my entire life. I don't want to overhype the film itself (it's definitely scary but I don't want to make it out to be the best horror movie ever) but if you're going to see Paranormal Activity, see it with a packed crowd as late as you can.

The Arclight was a zoo last night. I waited with my gf for about 3 hours, and then it looked like we might not get in, so I pulled a string and got a press ticket. Did I enjoy the movie? Absolutely. I'm a huge fan of "haunting" films and especially those that don't rely heavily on CGI, ghosts, physical entities, etc. This is a good, old-fashioned creepy flick. I thinkk I was totally sold on it until the ending which, as I understand, was originally different from what we got last night. I overheard people who had been to the infamous Burbank screening in 2007 saying that the old ending was far superior. Overall, considering its miniscule budget and amateur acting, I'd say it's certainly a great effort. I'm almost positive a bigger budgeted remake would have been disastrous in studio hands.

Yes. I just read a detailed description of it somewhere and that would have been a FAR superior note to end on. I really hope the eventual BD contains the film with the original ending instead of the Hollywood ending.
I also read there was a THIRD ending where
Personally, I think the original ending still sounds best for the tone of the film.

I didn't make it out there. I figured it would be a zoo after all the press this week. Looks like I was right.
It's a shame that the studios changed the ending From what I understand, the current ending was actually suggested by Spielberg, the king of treacly, terrible movie endings. No wonder it's apparently not as good.
I'll see it eventually and make up my mind, I guess.

For those that saw it, would you see it's as scary as The Blair Witch? Is the ending that kind of "sticks with you after the movie is over" type of ending that Blair Witch had? Assuming you liked BW.
