Unbelievable how something as simple looking as this could take me nearly two hours.

Coming soon a much more lengthy synopsis!

The only one that sounded watchable was devilshalo's Terminator & Back to the Future Movie.

Thank you for your kind words. With such features as The Mist, Shawshank Redemption, and The Green Mile, know that director Frank Darabont is not shy about creating a film that runs over 2 hrs nor one that harbors an R rating.

I'm kinda glad you don't want to see my movie. It is R rated but will run around 105 minutes.

H.G. Wells First Men in the Moon - Independence Day 2010

Edgar Wright, director of Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, on the set of his latest film.

Entertainment Weekly:  Edgar Wright, you have been quite the busy man.

Edgar Wright:  Yeah, you can definitely say that!

EW:  H.G. Wells First Men in the Moon -- how did you decide on this project?

Edgar:  We have our horror homage with "Shaun" and our police action flick with "Hot Fuzz" so a sci-fi adventure seemed like a natural progression.

EW:  Where there any challenges with bringing a classic novel by H.G. Wells to the big screen?

Edgar:  We used the novel as the framework for our film. H.G. Wells was certainly ahead of his time but my love for modern cinema and pop culture made setting it in the Victorian era unlikely. Besides, diving suits and aqualungs for space suits has been already done! (laughs)

EW:  A lunar adventure with Simon Pegg and Nick Frost -- it must have been a fun ride.

Edgar:  Whenever I need a reluctant hero and a hapless sidekick Simon and Nick are my mates to call. Simon as Bedford becomes an unwitting passenger to the moon on a prototype spaceship, a Gunstar, along with his friend Cavor, played by Nick.

EW:  That's a great opening piece in your film. What was the name of the song that played over the scene?

Edgar:  "Galaxy Defenders" by the Computer Rockers! It's a remix of Galaga, the old videogame. We tried to clear it for Spaced (Edgar's brilliant Brit sitcom) but the samples themselves hadn't been cleared at that time. It was great for the band to provide us with a 2010 remix for our film.

EW:  Your film boasts an impressive score by Gustav Holst. His opus The Planets has obvious nods by John Williams in the score for Star Wars -- George Lucas even used "Mars, the Bringer of War" as a temp track. With The Bells being his only other original film score you must be honored to have Gustav on board.

Edgar:  And the guy is 135-years-old! Simply amazing.

EW:  Aside from Simon and Nick you have some interesting, dare we say controversial, casting choices for your film.

Edgar:  Guilty as charged! (laughs)

to be continued...

Much better group than Memorial Day overall. In fact, I like them all. wishbone's and devhalo's are perfect. Mano's would be but for the casting of Riann Wilson, but at least I don't have to see him. sauce's is interesting, but seems like a cash-grab sequel, like American Pie before there was American Pie, so it's the one I'll wait to rent

I've commissioned Drew Struzan to come up with a one sheet.

H.G. Wells First Men in the Moon - Independence Day 2010

H.G. Wells First Men in the Moon:  Duncan and Teela (Anne Hathaway)

...continued.

Entertainment Weekly:  Spencer Pratt as Prince Adam:  it sounds like the role went to his head with his King Spencer Pratt nonsense.

Edgar Wright:  I think it did sadly. There was not a lot available for the Prince Adam character other than the betrayal by his half-brother Xur, played by Perez Hilton. Spence will be in for a bit of a shock when he sees his tiny role on the big screen at the premiere. We are contemplating removing him entirely from the eventual DVD release la The Phantom Edit. Simon is really, really pushing for this to happen. (laughs)

EW:  Perez Hilton and Spencer Pratt being related does makes sense.

Edgar:  Like their fellow Eternians they were transported through a gateway by a Cosmic Key malfunction to the interior of the moon. After many unsuccessful attempts to return home Xur is able to open the gateway again and makes contact with an alien race, the Kodans. In his lust for power and glory Xur sides with the Kodans, betrays Prince Adam and his people, and makes plans with his new allies and their armada to invade the Earth.

EW:  I see you have the lovely Anne Hathaway as your leading lady.

Edgar:  She is a lovely lady and she certainly has the comedic chops to go toe-to-toe with Simon and Nick. I am really pleased with her performance and if I may say so Anne is one hot Teela.

EW:  There has been a lot of sizzle is this summer's movie releases.

Edgar:  Yessss... (grins)

to be continued...

Mano's is the only one that does anything for me. I'm not a fan of Edgar Wright, so I'm clearly not the audience for wishbone. Terminator and BttF seem like they are too different in tone to mesh well together properly. And Animal House/Spinal Tap should excite me but just leaves me cold (although I have to ask -- Marty Scorcese? Is he really the right director for a movie like that?)

Scorsese has done some great comedy. I felt he would bring some prestiege to a movie that looks like a cash in.

The closest I can think of to a Scorses comedy is Alice Doesn't Live Here Any More. Maybe King of Comedy. But neither one of those is really what I would consider a comedy -- certainly not a broad comedy in the vein of Animal House or Spinal Tap.

You are right, though -- Marty can bring some prestige to anything he touches.

BttF2 was rather dark.. maybe not Temple of Doom dark, but there was a lot of abusiveness by older Biff towards Lorraine (early scripts even hinted at the possibility of Lorraine murdering Biff), and I, as a producer, felt both worlds could exist within each other. Especially, with entertaining the ideas about the consequences of time travel. I think Frank Darabont can walk that fine line and make it a cohesive film.

After Hours?

Scorsese needed a happier picture after Shutter Island
