Re: Be the Producer — A Movie Talk Draft Game

You could do a "from the creator of" or "from Executive producer" for an additional category.

Re: Be the Producer — A Movie Talk Draft Game

What are the rules on switching? I would propose the following:
  • If two (or more) players want to trade, that's between them. They should work it out offline (or in the thread) and then post an announcement. The trade will only be official when all parties to the trade post a message saying they agree to the trade.
  • If a player wants to swap out one of his picks, he can do so, but the drop counts as a move. So if I have two moves for today and I decide "Gosh, I really goofed up picking Care Bears as my franchise. I should have picked Rainbow Brite," I can make dropping Care Bears my first move and picking Rainbow Brite my second move. This will put my one pick behind everyone else; I would just get an extra pick on the very last day to allow me to catch up.

Thoughts?

Re: Be the Producer — A Movie Talk Draft Game

BTW, since editing disqualifies a post, I meant "Lead" Actor for my pick above of Jean Reno.

Re: Be the Producer — A Movie Talk Draft Game

I didn't know editing disqualified a post, I had to switch my answers from Actor to supporing and vice-versa.

Do I have to repost them?

Personally, I don't think there are enough of us playing to worry about it. We're all folks that take part in the other games and are a trustworthy bunch.

Once you have posted your pick, it is yours. If someone else has posted it before you, then you will need to re-pick. Don't edit your post, just post a new one. Edited posts will be disqualified.

Re: Be the Producer — A Movie Talk Draft Game

It seems like a lot of people (including me for my Hopkins pick) are just saying "Actor" without specifying "Lead" or "Supporting." It looks like Bus is defaulting those into lead roles, which is fair but maybe not what people intended. So I propose a one-time amnesty: anybody who up until now hasn't specified can go back and specify whether a particular actor is a lead or a support. Otherwise, we could just say that you're moving people from lead to support and treat them as switches, per my proposal above.

Thoughts?

Re: Be the Producer — A Movie Talk Draft Game

I propose a simpler rule: if you don't specify "supporting" you mean "lead".

I thought that the categories were clear enough to begin with (I made seperate lists for lead and supporting roles). But, I would be OK with allowing a 1 time change if it doesn't conflict with an already exsisting choice.

I put "lead" for my first pick but it seemed that stating "actor" meant "lead" so I left it out of today's pick. I am going to specify "supporting" for those picks.

That seems like a great rule, but the question is: if people screwed up, are they locked in or do we allow them to fix it?
