Setting:11th century Spain and the wars between Christians and the occupying Moors.
Made for $6 Million/contrasted with $12 Million for SPARTACUS (1960).
Distinguishing feature: the way it foregrounds the human conflicts and moral struggles against this epic nation-in-turmoil background.
