Recently - The Boat that Rocked. Also, Good Morning, Vietnam and The Big Chill.

Scores are a whole other ballpark.

The neat thing about the GMV soundtrack is that it has radio segments from the film spliced in.

Re: Favorite movie soundtrack

Gotta go with 2 80's classics:

Rocky IV and Transformers: The Movie

To this day, I can still throw either in and listen straight thru to the end.

Favorite soundtrack album? The Transformers: The Movie.
Favorite score album? Jurassic Park, but only just so over Danny Elfman's Batman. And, no, I don't care how fanboyish my answers are!

Re: Favorite movie soundtrack

We are distinguishing scores from soundtracks, I'd hope? If so, I'd say Pulp Fiction or Goodfellas for soundtrack. There Will Be Blood or The Godfather, Part II ("The Immigrant" is unbelievably moving) for score.

Not much for soundtracks, but scores: 25th Hour, Atonement, Batman/Batman Returns, Batman Begins/The Dark Knight, The Fountain, Gone Baby Gone, The Hours, Man on Fire, Pride and Glory, The Red Violin, Requiem for a Dream, Superman, Traffic and most recently, Sherlock Holmes (which, IMO, should be nominated for an Oscar).
