Does anyone know Isabella Rossellini? Maybe she remembers the line.

I think he was good twice.

Paper Moon
Barry Lyndon

Great directors got a good performance out of him.

I've only seen him in:
Love Story
What's up Doc?
Paper Moon
The Driver

and thought he gave strong performances.

I think the problem there is the writing not the delivery
prior to clicking to play the frame it shows is him holding the letter. I was expecting to see him actually reading something off of it

Apparently they even played up the cheesiness of the line for the ad campaign...

Now I want to see this movie.

....damn that was a ballsy trailer. Only Cannon would do these trailers.

The first 3 "Oh man!" aren't funny, but that 4th one is so casual and out of place its hilarious.

I almost wish someone would redo just that scene with either a Minnesota accent or, since its on a beach, a shirtless Matthew McConaughey.

He was perfectly fine in his role in Zero Effect, which I've always enjoyed as a highly underrated film. Really, with the clip in the OP, a director's got to bear the brunt of the blame for a scene like that. It's so fucking atrocious that you either find another way to do it or cut it entirely.
