You are thinking of SkyFire, not JetFire.

Same thing.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jetfire

In the many stories of Jetfire (who was referred to as Skyfire in the TV series, known in Italy as Aquila) told through the numerous Generation 1 continuities, there is one constant aspect - an early alliance with the Decepticons, which has served only to convince him to side with the Autobots. Jetfire's dedication to the Autobot cause is matched only by his devotion to scientific and technological advancement - this, he believes, is the only way in which victory over the Decepticons can be achieved. It is this overriding belief that tempers his bravado in battle, but nevertheless, he is often one of the most eager Autobots to plunge into combat, and his position as one of the fastest usually means he is the first to do so. Jetfire is created from the same mold as Macross's VF-1S Valkyrie, with "Super Valkyrie" armor (See "TOYS" section below).

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Bay, 2009) — The Reviews Thread

Did anyone notice how oddly written/directed was the scene when Alice (the Pretender) got into Bumblebee? Look at Isabel Lucas and you'll see that she's playing the scene as if she's aware Bumblebee is an Autobot. Bumblebee tries to clue Sam into the fact that she's a Decepticon by playing "Superfreak" and later "Brick House" after he violently slams her forehead against his dashboard. It's obvious Bumblebee is aware of what she is but he makes no later attempts to clue Sam in. Way to be a great guardian? I know Sam was a dick to Bumblebee earlier but his life was still in danger if he didn't have such a crucial piece of information.

And on the subject of the Pretender, why keep Ron and Judy Witwicky alive? Couldn't they have gotten some Pretenders to mimic Sam's parents? Or are we to assume "Alice" was the only one of her kind?

I believe what BB did was simply because Same was with another woman and potentially cheating on Mikhala(sp) not that she was a Decepticon. Afterall the first song BB played was "your cheatin' heart".

This bit was one part where I thought the humor did work.

God the more I think about it the more this movie sucked ass. The first one too. At least the first one made a little sense.

I hope Transformers gets a Batman like reset 15 or so years from now.

Both are good reasons. And, I was impressed with the visual effects work in the first movie, so I'm interested to see what they did with it this time.

Exactly. Didn't his spark look exactly like the Matrix from the original cartoon movie? I remember thinking to myself that was one of the things the first movie got right. Might have to just look for it myself later.

Actually, "Your Cheatin' Heart" was the second song Bumblebee played.

The way it went was she got in the car and Bumblebee played "Superfreak". Sam was shrugging Bumblebee off and then Bumblebee played "Your Cheatin' Heart". Then Alice/Pretender got wise to Bumblebee (look at how suspicious she suddenly becomes) and asked if there was something wrong with his radio (which came across as rhetorical in her delivery). Then Bumblebee made her smash her head real hard on the dashboard and played "Brick House" on the radio. Finally, he squirted her and Sam with what looked like antifreeze.

So basically it played out like this:

BB: Dude, that chick aint a chick.
Sam: Shut up.
BB: Oh, you wanna fuck that chick, don'tcha? What about Mikaela?
Alice: {This car knows I'm an alien.} [Acting all innocent.] Is something wrong.
Sam: Nothing at all.
BB: [Slams Alice in the face and points at how she's unhurt.] Dude, she's an alien!
Sam: Shut up!
BB: Fuck it! [He pisses over them both.]

No, he just sorta opens his chest (similar to how he did in the cartoon to reveal the Matrix of Leadership) and you see a little lens flare pop through the small slot shaped opening.

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Bay, 2009) — The Reviews Thread

I finally got to see this movie today. What a piece of SHIT! If there was one movie this summer that I thought I'd see more than once and buy on DVD, it was this one. Man, was I wrong! I could barely make it through one viewing. And let me just say right now that I'm an unapologetic fan of the Star Wars prequels, the Jurassic Park sequels, Terminator 3, Terminator:Salvation, Indy IV, and even AVP. But this is where I draw the line.

I have to admit that the movie lost me pretty quickly. Once I saw the tongue thing, I was done with this franchise. After that, I stopped paying close attention, but I'm pretty sure that nothing that followed made any sense anyway.

I just felt like someone kept changing the channels while I was watching the movie. Its actually 3 movies edited into one. There seemed to be a documentary on the military, a kiddie-movie about robots who: have beards, mustaches, testicles, grow old, fart, spit, cry and talk shit. And finally, an American Pie/teenage hijinks/stupid parents movie.

Just fucking terrible. I was squirming in my seat just waiting for it to be over.

Here's some random observations/questions:

1. Did I really see one of the appliance-bots pop a boner and start firing missiles out of it?!

2. Why was Optimus Prime so "off" in this movie? Evertime he went into a monologue, he sounded like he was babbling about nonsense and everyone looked like they were just humoring him.

3. One of the twins might be black, but the one with the gold tooth was definitely a hillbilly. Equally shitty stereotype, though.

4. They could barely fit the actors into Sam's roommate's computer room, but they did manage to shove a MOUNTAIN DEW VENDING MACHINE in there!!

5. What was the helicopter and the one Optimus beheaded in the first movie doing in this one? Aren't they both dead?

6. When exactly did Sam hurt his hand and who bandaged it?

7. Were Megatron and Starscream growing baby decepticons on one of Saturn's moons? Does this mean that Transformers are actually hatched and then physically grow up?!

8. What was that thing Ravage coughed up into the pipe early in the movie?

9. Why was Sam's roommate in the whole movie? I thought he would just disappear once Sam went off on his adventure. This character has no connection to any other character in the movie. And he only met Sam 5 minutes ago!

10. What exactly was it that the decepticons were trying to do (and the Autobots were trying to prevent) in this movie?

11. Why did Megan's lips look freakishly big in this movie? She doesn't normally look like that.

12. Every shot in the opening scene with the primitive humans meeting the ancient Transformers was off. It was truly a sign of things to come.

13. Was I really supposed to believe that Mikaela would be so in love with Sam? And that he's not sure if he should tell her he loves her?!

14. Who brought Sam's parents to Egypt and why?

I was too busy thinking about how dumb the whole scene was to notice

2. Why was Optimus Prime so "off" in this movie? Evertime he went into a monologue, he sounded like he was babbling about nonsense and everyone looked like they were just humoring him.

Because he's not the main charactor. Sam is.

Pepsi pays money.

5. What was the helicopter and the one Optimus beheaded in the first movie doing in this one? Aren't they both dead?

Yes Blackout and Bonecrusher died in the first one. Sloppy writing that they are in the second one.

6. When exactly did Sam hurt his hand and who bandaged it?

Don't know. More sloppy writing.

7. Were Megatron and Starscream growing baby decepticons on one of Saturn's moons? Does this mean that Transformers are actually hatched and then physically grow up?!

Not enough time to explain with the humping dogs and pot brownies jokes.

8. What was that thing Ravage coughed up into the pipe early in the movie?
Frenzy 2.

9. Why was Sam's roommate in the whole movie? I thought he would just disappear once Sam went off on his adventure. This character has no connection to any other character in the movie. And he only met Sam 5 minutes ago!
They added more unnoticeable robots so they needed more obnoxious humans to even it out.

10. What exactly was it that the decepticons were trying to do (and the Autobots were trying to prevent) in this movie?
Revive The Fallen and help him use the energon machine to steal the suns power.

11. Why did Megan's lips look freakishly big in this movie? She doesn't normally look like that.
Helps with her porn star look.

12. Every shot in the opening scene with the primitive humans meeting the ancient Transformers was off. It was truly a sign of things to come.

13. Was I really supposed to believe that Mikaela would be so in love with Sam? And that he's not sure if he should tell her he loves her?!
Puts nerd asses in seats.

14. Who brought Sam's parents to Egypt and why?
One of the bulldozer constructicons that there were apparently two of. One to do this and set up some elaborate and unnecessary trap for Sam and the other to help form Devastator. Sloppy film making is the key here.

Saw it. Didn't think it was nearly as bad as all the negative reviews. Sure, it was completely mindless and was too long, but it was a decent movie.

Yeah, that took me out of the movie. Shia had a serious injury from a car accident during the shoot and had to have his hand bandaged. In the movie, it's not explained. We see him teleport and fall and roll in the desert and he seems to hurt his hand, but we never see anybody bandage him.

Coming out of the teleportation sequence, Sam fell on something that hurt his hand when he landed (how is this hard to follow). Now the uber-bandage job in the middle of Egypt is a head-scratcher.

Mikela was wrapping it up after it was mysteriously hurt. I wish it had just happened in one of the robot fights, but maybe they couldn't make the continuity work. Not that that stopped them for other issues...

Saw it today and it wasn't to bad. The GCI was great, the story sucked and so did the acting. Saw it in Digital IMAX wihich was a joke. The screen wasn't any bigger then the normal theater I go to. I feel rapped of my money.

Well for god's sake don't see it at a regular dome IMAX. Just wait for the blu ray and watch it 1 foot from the TV.

Maybe if the camera would linger on something for more than a second, I would have noticed how he got hurt. The bandage remains a mystery, right?

Anyone have a clue about the baby decepticons on Saturn's moon? (I can't believe I just typed that)

Re: Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen (Bay, 2009) — The Reviews Thread

In the final desert battle scene, did anyone notice the Decepticon minions that were fighting the soldiers ? They were shown in quick flashes, but they almost looked like their designs were more like the classic G1 toy version robots, which is a good thing. It would be nice if the filmmakers made the Transformers look more like the G1 toys in the third movie.

Maybe Japan will someday do a Transformers movie right. Japan is more likely to make a live-action Transformer movie that would totally follow the design of the G1 Transformers.

Ha! No, but I did find out that my entire state doesn't have a real IMAX theater. We have a shit digital one (Not really IMAX) and two that only play nature films. Sucks. And Dome IMAX isn't regular IMAX. But Blu Ray is great for home use, but compared to IMAX it's nothing special. I was looking forward to seeing Optimus Prime in life size, but noooooooooooooooo.........

Nope. Besides, G1 designs aren't "All that". They would look like Power Rangers Robots. I mean I get the hatred for the TF Movie series and robot designs but come on; let's not get crazy.

I love how Sam's mega bandage disappeared when he was with his dad and then reappeared later on.

Sam's parents were there to lure him over but, as I mentioned earlier, a couple of Pretenders made up to look like his parents would have served the same purpose.

Speaking of Pretenders, if Megatron needed Sam to be inspected by the Doctor, why did the Pretender seem so hell bent on killing Sam? I get killing Mikaela and the roommate who should have died but not Sam. I get it when the Doctor said they may as well cut out his brain but not before that.

Oh and speaking of the godawful roommate, you guys read the news that Michael "Fuck Transformers" Bay wants to give that douchebag a bigger role in Transformers 3?

Sadly, unless it's done by the folks who did Casshern, the CG robots will look worse than a sci-fi original crapfest. And like Giantrobo said, they wouldn't translate well in live action. They just need a middle ground.

No offense..but Japan's cinema is not as great as it once was. Practically no one gives a fuck about Japan's films but a few directors do shine out of it.

Grindor the helicopter Decepticon is in ROTF, not Blackout.
