Pontypool?
I read that Pontypool had a very limited release today - I only know about NYC, maybe a few other places. Will this film get a broader release within the next few weeks? Or will I have to rent the DVD?

You'll probably have to rent it - I think it's also On Demand of some kind. I saw the movie last summer at a test screening while Bruce McDonald was still tweaking it for the Toronto International Film Festival... it was pretty decent. Low key, performance driven 'thriller'. I'm interested to see it again because the ending was terrible and I let them know as much in the feedback, wonder if it changed at all.

I just rented and watched this last night. Damn good SF/Thriller. Stephen McHattie deserves a big pat on the back for a terrific performance.
This film is being labled a zombie flick by quite of few people. It doesn't qualify as a zombie film to me. Its more like a virus driving people insane type situation.
Also, Netflix doesn't have it yet unfortunately. I caught it at Blockbuster and grabbed it. Glad I did.

I liked it. The ending sorta lost me so I ended up doing some reading about the short story and everything "clicked". I would have liked a bit of maybe a voice over explaining it instead of the 5 second black-and-white segment added to the credits, but all-in-all I give it a solid "B"

That after credits sequence was bizarre. Like Sin City meets David Lynch. Have no idea if it was story related or them just having fun. Also, I read where the filmakers would like to make a trilogy out of it. Be interesting if they get a chance to do that.
