Carriers (2009): Chris Pine and Piper Perabo

Four friends fleeing a viral pandemic soon learn they are more dangerous than any virus.
Release date: September 4, 2009 (I'm guessing. it's been pushed back already..)

^Possibly, but they may also want to capitalize on Chris Pine's growing popularity.
I like me a good epidemic movie but the trailer had me rolling my eyes at several of the character's decisions, I'm sure it'll be much worse watching the entire movie.

I watched this tonight, pretty much your generic epidemic/zombie type movie, only without any zombies. It's decent but I wouldn't recommend a purchase unless you can find it really cheap.
Oh, and anyone who is spoiler sensitive should avoid the trailer as there is a pretty major spoiler in it.

watched it yesterday. boring and cliche...well made but just lacked anything interesting or original.

Anyone know why Paramount opted to not release this on Blu-ray or in it's R-rated form? I really enjoyed it. It made me think back to one of the stories in Stephen King's Night Shift. I can't remember the name off the top of my head, but it was an off-shoot of The Stand taking place at a beach. Very moody story, and this film felt like what an expanded version of it might feel like.
Forgot to add, I did have one problem with it.

I thought it was a rather mediocre film and doubt even the extend R-rated cut could save it. Not to mention that Pine's acting was pretty bad, where as he was great in Star Trek.

Me too. Something about her is very appealing, and I don't just mean her look. It's puzzling why her star didn't rise to Scarlett Johansson levels. She was an "it" girl 10 years ago with Coyote Ugly, but for some reason the lead roles never came... Unless you count stuff like Rocky & Bullwinkle and Beverly Hills Chihuahua.
