Halloween is one of the lamest pieces of garbage ever! While I agree that Jaws is not "horror" by today's standards, it should be looked at in it's context. In it's day it was the shizzle. (Using that same argument I suppose Halloween was "groundbreaking" in it's day -- but today it is lame and been ripped off too many times to have any impact.)

I've never considered JAWS a horror film. It's a wildlife adventure about man vs. shark.

The Thing.
I think Jaws is a superior film to Halloween, however I don't think it's a horror film, so my vote goes to Halloween by default.

My wife voted for Jaws. I would agree with her, if for no other reason than this: We're about to hit summertime, and even after all this time, that movie still crosses our minds anytime we're near the beach.
