I went to the New Bev premiere. It was fun, but the limited budget definitely shows. Still, there is some great music (courtesy of Giallos Flame) and there are some very stylish shots. I don't think it would play as well in a living room as it does with a rowdy crowd, but I'll still get the DVD.

My roommate knows the director of this. That being said, I haven't seen it yet.

Re: Black Devil Doll (2009)

The q&a after the movie was brutal, Jonathan, the director, doesn't exactly come alive in front of an audience. I know the writer, so that's who I gave my pointers to. If you're a fan of blaxploitation, I'd say this is a must-see. Not great, but the intent was there to make something pretty offensive and radical.

Was it crowded ? I thought about going but had to work the next day. I might do the May 1st show in Long Beach.

Did the director or writer write the review at Dreadcentral?

Re: Black Devil Doll (2009)

The review was written by Stephen Romano who designed the poster for the film.

He is also the author of this book, which I highly recommend.

Both Dread Central and Bloody-Disgusting tend to be overly generous with their reviews
