I don't know why they didn't ask Chiklis, he was brilliant in the TV movie.

I heard about this driving home from work tonight and was slightly interested when Jim Carrey's name came up. Now, I come home and see Sean Penn's name is attached.

Guess what movie I'll never be seeing now :(

I seriously don't comprehend your logic...

Also...I think The Stooges are too much their own thing to make something on it. Of course...we had Downey Jr. as Chaplin but....I dunno...it's just too much of a leap.

My thinking... I like the 3 Stooges and I like Sean Penn like I love steak and I love peanut butter but I'm not making any peanut butter steak sandwiches.

I'd think he'd want to stay as far away from anything Stooges related after practically being blacklisted from Hollywood after playing Curly the first time.

or so that's what he says.

Sean Penn playing Larry is not going to work cause Larry was not gay.

Sure he is! He made out with those dudes and won an award for it. I'm pretty sure he's a homo.

so apparently this is dead serious...my mom told me that all 3 were on NBC Ch. 4 News (New York) this morning confirming that this is in the works. i thought she meant she saw a picture of them in a Photoshop like the above, but they were there in flesh talking to reporters about it.

can anyone find this clip?

Look out Abbott and Costello - you're next!

Don't even joke around like that. Buddy Hackett & Harvey Korman did A&C in the late 70s, and I still wake up screaming & covered in my own feces at least once a month.

And the above 3 Stooges casting is ridiculous.

There's a reason it's been in development hell for well over 10 years. And that's not because they couldn't find anybody right for the part.

Look nobody thought Sean Connery's James Bond could be replaced and Roger Moore did a fine job. It can be done. Penn & Toro are Oscar winners and Jim Carey is a genius. The reason for this project if you want to put blame has to go to the 24 and under movie goers who refuse to watch anything in b&w.
Which is why Hollywood has been cranking out the remakes and now is cranking out legendary characters.

Solid Snake 03-28-09 01:43 AM

Re: The Three Stooges are...

Granted Penn and Del Toro are Oscar Winners..but I wouldn't call Carey a genius. The only time I was amazed by his acting was in Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind...and Michel Gondry had a part to that as well I assume

Did you see some of the other projects in the works in that article? Hot Wheels? Monopoly? Candyland?

Man, I better get my script for Stratego finished! Then I can start work on Kerplunk!
