I caught the trailer for this on the Ultimate Trailer Show the other day. Looks pretty damn good to me. I'm looking forward to seeing how Scorsese handles some horror.

Sydow is my main reason I want to see this film the other actors are frosting on the cake!

This is his first feature film with a 'story' since The Departed. Will be interested to see how/if the Oscar has affected his style and what the results are.
I have a really bad feeling the critics might not really dig this, but we'll see. The Departed looked pretty throwaway from initial trailers.

I've watched the trailer a couple of times and it looks good to me. Some of the film was shot with 65mm film so thats a little exciting. Christopher Nolans next film Inception will also have some 65mm scenes.

I just finished reading the book and have a question for those here that have as well:
Movie looks good IMO. Hope it keeps everything that made the book enjoyable in tact.

Agreed. The original is also far superior to the remake.

Goddamn, are Scorsese and DiCaprio attached at the hip. I like both alright, but Jesus, work with some new people Scorsese and Leo.
Oh well. I haven't read the book, yet. But I certainly plan on it.

Are you arguing against it? Cuz De Niro and Scorsese rocked, Kurosawa and Mifune (much much more films worked together...dunno if it's the longest running film team but it may be), and Rogen and Apatow (ok...it's a short time duo but it's been great)

Really looking forward to this despite the generic/cliched trailer style.

Edward Scissorhands
Ed Wood
Sleepy Hollow
Charlie and The Chocolate Factory
Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
Alice In Wonderland
if you want to count in any and all forms of collaboration...add in..
The Corpse Bride
It seems like a bigger batch of works but..they're just soooo popular that it may seem they've done more films together.

I mean...uh..shit...don't tell the mods..
Uhm....There's nothing wrong with Scorsese using DiCaprio...my only objection towards Marty's use of him was in Gangs of New York where he is NOWHERE near the level of Day-Lewis (course most people aren't) and hell..Neeson was more badass than DiCaprio in his little screen time.
