Well i for one cannot wait for Apatow to get the hell out of Hollywood. His movies have generally sucked. Ok Superbad i thought was alright, but come on....anyone that tries to make a star out of the unfunniest man on Earth aka. Seth Rogan does not deserve to breath air. Everyone told me how funny Pineapple Express was and that i should see it. What utter trash. I have a friend who i have known all my life and has been a stoner for about 20 years. I realized a long time ago that very little is funny about watching someone get stoned. Its just dull. James Franco was alright in it, but come on....Rogan again. What an unfunny borefest be makes any movie. The Farrelly Brothers did some ok stuff and some pretty bad stuff. I am open to seeing them take another shot. Kevin Smith has always been alright and i think he peaked with Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.Zak and Miri would have been a lot better if they had gotten someone instead of (you guessed it) Senor Rogan and his unfunny schtick. The problem with Kevin Smith is that he does not seem to have grown much. He tried to grow with Jersey Girl, but then got scared by its failure and returned to familiar roots. I can't say i blame him to some extent. He should however give up any acting that involves him speaking. Daredevil and Live Free or Die Hard were not good acting jobs by the fat bearded one.

Seth Rogen seems to have a more distinct love-him-or-hate-him thing going on than most up-and-coming stars I can think of. I think most of it is that people can't stand the idea that what he does could be considered acting, since he really doesn't appear to do anything. And maybe that isn't acting, but I think he's funny.

Personally I don't think it is over for either all it takes is one hit and you are revelant. Without 40 Year Old Virgin no one would know who Aptow is...

Either of then could easliy churn out something that makes $50 million then everyone will be eagerly looking at their next project.

Smith just made his highest grossing movie. He is not done by a long shot...

The same could have/been said about Adam Sandler and Jim Carey at the same point in their careers. Didn't seem to hurt them in the least.

I don't get the Seth Rogen is funny thing at all.
When did he film the mall cop movie that's about to come
out.
He was fatter in that movie then anything else i've seen him in.
He even looks almost exactly like the other mall cop, Kevin James.

Not funny, his fake stoner cough in Express was awful.

40 Year Old Virgin was certainly his first big hit, but he's also been attached to Knocked Up, Superbad and Forgetting Sarah Marshall. I think Apatow would have fallen off the map if he didn't do anything after 40 Year Old Virgin, but he did and he churned out some enjoyable flicks and those are the ones that really put him on the map.
