The Atmos sound is pretty damn good on the UHD. Which is about as much of an endorsement as I can give for every DC thus far. The sound is good.

Exactly. But hey, DC could release a great film and the same folks would Still complain.

It's becoming a trend at this point. Releasing two films that were met with poor to mixed reviews and then putting together a different cut for home release seems indicative of a problem. Director's/extended cuts aren't really normal unless there's studio meddling which seems to be the case with both this and Batman V Superman.

It's not indicative of a problem to me, just a studio trying to sell more copies in the home media sector the way it has been for some time now.

I'm not sold that the perceived quality of the two movies have any bearing on the release of an extended cut here - I'm more inclined to believe both of these happen to have a ton of extra footage shot and cut for reasons both good and bad (I don't recall significant rumors of studio meddling in BvS?) so it made sense to package it in some way. If the movies were better received, I honestly think we'd see the same thing

It's also pretty obvious, based on reviews as well as viewer feedback, that many thought it was mediocre. Your post is bizarre.
Not really. It's obvious that the mainstream seemed to like this movie for the most part. Like I said, if it wasn't liked then it would have dropped like a rock. It didn't and is one of the highest grossing movies of the summer. For that matter, Joker and Harley Quinn are also the two most popular Halloween costumes for this year. For that matter, a lot of people who have seen it have said that it's nowhere near as bad as the critics say it was.

So no, this cut isn't to "fix" the movie. Most likely it's because they know that there is interest in an extended cut and they want to make more money. Simple as that.
