I'm pretty much over TDK. I'm waiting for Watchmen and Inglorious Basterds.

They should also digitally remove previous versions from film and TV.

Re: Retire the Joker?

No freaking way. Heath Ledger's performance was great but there is an actor who has the chops to step right into the role for a sequel.

Yeah, he could do it. Physically speaking..he's as rail thin as Mr. J.

And he's a great actor. Underrated, but great.

Re: Retire the Joker?

Yeah, you bring him up to average person..and they don't know who he is..which is always great to give them Brick to get an appreciation for the guy.

Re: Retire the Joker?

There are no good pictures to be found of Levitt and Ledger together in 10 Things I Hate About You, at least none that I could find before I ran out of interest. But yes, Levitt is a very good actor. As for retiring the character, that's ludicrous. I can see why another actor wouldn't want to take up the role, but the idea that such an action should be forbidden entirely is just stupid.

Yeah, JGL is terrific. Haven't see a bad performance from him yet, but I've never seen him do anything like the Joker.

Re: Retire the Joker?

I burned my Batman trades after seeing the movie because I loved Ledger so much. I also bought up a bunch of decks of cards and shredded the Joker cards. And the people said I was mad.

Re: Retire the Joker?

There really is no need to do the Joker again. Besides it already being done very well by Ledger and Nicholson, there really is no need to have Joker in another Batman film for the next 15 years at least.

It's like saying "do we need to see Doctor Octopus in another spidey film?" It was done well and that was enough - these mainstream superheros have tons of other villains that need to be used.

Re: Retire the Joker?

Brick was hugely unimpressive, but he was great in The Lookout.

That said, him or James Franco would probably be picked if anyone. But how is this news? It's a group of Ledger fanatics.

Re: Retire the Joker?

The Joker should be retired from the Comic Books for next five years.
He has to be the most overuse villian in the History of Comics.

Re: Retire the Joker?

Heath Ledger was good, but it would be foolish to say that no one else should ever play the role again.

I, for one, would like to see Michael Shannon from Revolutionary Road as a candidate.

Re: Retire the Joker?

they should probably retire the joker from the current series of movies, but to retire the character forever? Silly.
