Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action
Anyone who thinks Juno is all Ellen Page is about should see Hard Candy.
|
Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action
A lot of people hate her due to Hard Candy and Juno.
I don't mind her, I think she's a good little actress. |

I think she's a pretentious little bitch and I would have completely written off Drag Me To Hell had she remained attached. Unless she has a small role, I know I'll hate this movie every minute she's on-screen.

Even worse..she killed the mother while pregnant that would give birth to his future puppy...such atrocities!

If anyone can get a kick ass performance out of her it's Nolan. |
Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action
Agree.
Im not a fan of her's either, but I have total faith in Nolan. The man knows what he's doing. One of the elite filmmakers working today. |
Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action
I would second that title of elie filmmaker of today. Man has really grown in a grand pace.

Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action
Ken Watanabe has joined the cast, it's a Batman Begins reunion.
Also, Tom Hardy. http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/hr/...796f4087e3ad00 |
Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action
Damn..this is fucking awesome already. C'mon Guy Pearce! C'mon...

Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action
Actually just watched RocknRolla last week and discovered Tom Hardy. Loved his freakout scene set to "Bankrobber" by The Clash, so it's definitely cool he's involved.
The whole idea that Watanabe's character is blackmailing DiCaprio (a business guy) coupled with the concept makes it sound like a sci-fi 52 Pick-Up. And for that matter, I'm definitely in. |
Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action
According to this Calgary Sun article on the film, the budget will be around $200 million.
|
Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action
Holy fuck...WB really bows down to Nolan now don't they. I hope it gets that bank back cuz...an "original" sci-fi film, though it does have name actors, with a budget that huge nowadays....I dunno. But...if they market it as "from the director that made The Dark Knight"...they'll be fine I think...
|
Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action
If it really is $200m, Nolan is really putting his neck on the line for it. If it turns out anything less than spectacular and profittable, he'll be under some pretty extreme scrutiny.

Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action
Yeah...but Batman has enough widespread knowledge of a property than just a new sci-fi film. Whatever this makes..it will never deter from WB giving Nolan 100% approval for a new Batman flick. That's a guarantee...

Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action
Oh yeah, Batman is a given, I just meant in terms of other personal projects.

Re: Inception (Nolan, 2010): Contemporary Sci-fi/Action
When was the last really successful sci-fi flick that wasn't Star Wars or Star Trek?

Terminator 4 is doing quite well overseas, Minority Report did "alright" but was critically a hit, and The Matrix series pulled in $$. |
