This was alright, exactly what you'd expect but Isla Fisher is cute as hell and has great comedic timing. She really makes some genuine laughs in this one and despite the last act taking the predictable 'things come crashing down' dramatic overlong ending, the first half is light and fun - you could certainly do worse IMO.

Okay, let me get this out of the way, Isla Fisher is adorable and funny.
Unfortunately, the script to "Confessions of a Shopaholic" misses terribly, and ends up being an overly long route to wising up with credit debt and lying to one's self about the huge financial hole that rampant shopping creates. A stronger script would have made for a better movie, though director P.J Hogan does have a way with ending scenes on a funny but wry note at times.
I give it 2 stars or a grade of C.

Isla definitely owned the leading role and carried the movie. Her antics and jokes were literally "laugh out loud" funny. I found myself and the others around laughing hysterically, especially at parts where Isla would fall or run into things. Hugh Dancy was cute in the role of Luke Brandon too. I loved his accent. The styles and the bright colors in the wardrobe were awesome...fun music too!

The main problem with this film is that in her transition from book to screen, Becky Bloomwood has undergone a lobotomy.

I don't see the resemblance. Have you seen her own child? Olive. She is precious. I bet she is going to be hysterical with parents like Isla and Sasha!

I just saw this tonight. Isla Fisher is adorable but the movie was just pure torture to sit through. At an hour and 45 minutes, it was just too long and drawn out. And this is one of the first "comedies" that I recall seeing that couldn't gain a single chuckle or even a smile out of me.
