Anyone know this movie

I only saw a small part of it on tv. It's an old movie from the 70s/80s about some technical genius being chased by the FBI/police. He's an old guy with a beard. A memorable scene is where he tapes two pay phones together to hide where he is calling from. Anybody know the name of this movie?

You remember the pay phone scene in this movie?
I'll check it out. I looked at the synopsis for it and it seems to fit.
Isn't there a sequel to this movie? Any good?

Re: Anyone know this movie

Sequel... not so good.

Never saw the television series based on the movie.

But I saw the original in theaters when I was 15, and loved it. I love those enjoyable great mid-80s B-movie action/thriller flicks. Like F/X, but also stuff like Black Moon Rising, Target, and the inimitable Delta Force.

Re: Anyone know this movie

Thanks for your help guys

I've found a lot of those 80's thrillers at Dimple Records stores. I'm still trying to watch most of them.

Know of any online used dvd store with free shipping if you spend over a certain amount, or is Amazon and Ebay still the best way to go for used dvds?

Re: Anyone know this movie

Just buy it on Amazon marketplace. After shipping it's about less than $5 from people.

Re: Anyone know this movie

I always thought they were both pretty good movies. I remembering seeing them for the first time. My buddy and I went to visit his Dad one weekend and this guy used to tape all the movies he could off the pay channels he had. Th guy pulled out a notebook with pages and pages of movies on them. We picked F/X and he looked up the corresponding number in his book and went off to find the matching numbered VHS tape. It happened to have the second movie on the tape as well so we had a double header that night.
