What James Whale movie would you consider his best, or your personal favorite?

All of them!

The man was genius behind the camera.

But his best was Bride of Frankenstein.

Love them all, but Bride of Frankenstein is a masterpiece while the others you listed are merely very, very good.

The original Frankenstein. I'm not really a big fan of Bride, the humor is just too hokey for me.

Re: Best James Whale Movie

Tough choice on the four listed - they are all terrific.

However .... I might actually give the nod to the 1936 version (and arguably the best version) of the landmark musical SHOW BOAT. Paul Robeson singing OLE MAN RIVER, Helen Morgan doing her signature song BILL - and all lovingly directed by the man who spent the first half of the 30's scaring the pants off everyone!

Whale Rider, it was cutting edge because it was one of the first pieces of gay erotica.

Re: Best James Whale Movie

Knowing what James Whale thought of even making Bride makes watching it a dirty little inside joke.

Have never seen any of these.

Instead of throwing vegetables at me, please place them in this container. I wish to have salad this evening.

Don't feel bad about not having gotten around to them, just don't let not having seen them yet be a roadblock on your way to seeing them.
