Am I the only one who actually loves "Chicago"?

A lot of them are bitter, resentful "Moulin Rouge" fans who are absolutely convinced "Chicago" would NEVER have been as successful as it was without "Moulin Rouge" being so allegedly great.

I don't think any one would have some sort of ulterior motive for disliking a movie. That seems stupid. You either like it or you don't, not dislike it because of what another movie did.

Uh, yeah. And Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Judi Dench, Marion, Cotillard, Sophia Loren and Kate Hudson
Re: "Chicago". I absolutely loved it in when I saw it in the theater. But have to admit it didn't hold up well the second time for me when I saw it on DVD. Still, a great film. Just a one time thing for me.

God Moulin Rouge is terrible. I can see bad karaoke for free down the street. They didn't need to make a movie out of it.

I love the musical version and all the songs, but only like the movie version because it could've been a better adaptation (such as not cutting out some great songs from the musical and having less overdone editing).
So my view is:
Chicago (the musical): excellent
Chicago songs: excellent (Kander and Ebb were an incredible songwriting team)
Chicago (the film): very good
(As for the other musicals mentioned, I like "Hairspray" but think "Moulin Rouge" was nearly unbearable to watch mainly due to its ADD-style editing and overly silly and cartoonish attempts at humor)
