Who would you like to do a Bond theme?

QoS's theme was pretty good. Much better than that Chris Cornell shit. But I'm really hoping for these people to do a Bond theme.

-TV On The Radio
-Cat Power
-M83
-Daft Punk
-Damen Albarn

Pink Floyd

Drexl 12-01-08 05:26 AM

It would depend on what kind of theme they'd be going for.

If it can be laid-back, Adele.

If it would be modern rock, Arcade Fire.

The Bus 12-01-08 08:12 AM

TV on the Radio's Bond theme would be awful. And I love TV on the Radio.

BullGooseLoony 12-01-08 08:32 AM

Amy Winehouse
Rihanna

Just a couple of interesting voices off the top of my head.

The Gossip

and yes, thanks Ronnie for another person stating that Chris Cornell song is shit.

Ever since hearing "No Need to Cry" or "I'll Be Around" by Neko Case, I think she would do an amazing job with a Bond song. She wouldn't be too bad as a Bond girl, either. ;)

Interpol would be the bad-ass.

Alphaville covered Diamonds Are Forever so that would very cool if someone would give them a shot at it.

Giles 12-01-08 10:07 AM

after hearing the new Killers album - they could do a killer ( :rimshot: ) Bond song. A full on gaudy bombastic orchestral track

Michael Corvin 12-01-08 10:24 AM

Why not give the themes a break and go instrumental on one? I'm listening to BT right now and he could do a killer intro.

Tori Amos
Aimee Mann (Id like for her to do an official song after her fantastic cover of "Nobody does It Better")
Sia
Muse

Shannon Nutt 12-01-08 10:54 AM

The Killers
Coldplay

...I also think Paul McCartney should be asked to return. Shirley Bassey got to do three, and only one for Paul?!

As far as instrumentals go, DJ Shadow would blow everyone else out of the water. I'd like to hear what My Morning Jacket could do, they're always so creative. Beck as well.

Plaid did an amazing musical score for 'Tekkenkonreet' - a Bond Theme seems right up their alley.

Boo Boo Davis. A Fine Frenzy. Black Lips. Dropkick Murphys. The Duke Spirit. The Eagles of Death Metal. Kings of Leon.

These names are, of course, a mere few, and are being put forth under the assumption that it may only include bands currently together (i.e. no Zeppelin, Chuck Berry, CCR).

Girl Talk, using samples from all the other Bond themes under some NWA lyrics or something.

devilshalo 12-01-08 12:37 PM

I don't care.. as long as the title of the film is in there somewhere.

"Straight outta London, crazy motherfucker named James Bond/
Pussy Galore in the DB5 with no panties on"

fumanstan 12-01-08 12:51 PM

I'd like to hear the Killers do one as well.

Of course, I actually liked the last two themes.

asianxcore 12-01-08 12:56 PM

Portishead

gmanca 12-01-08 01:03 PM

Another vote for Daft Punk and I'd add in Air; the breathy sounds would work great with the classic naked silhouette intros.
