General Hummel: Major Anderson, if you have any concern for the lives of your men, you will order them to safety their weapons and place them on the deck.
Agent Paxton: This is not happening...
Commander Anderson: Sir, we know why you're out here. God knows, I agree with you. But like you, I swore to defend this country against all enemies, foreign, sir... and domestic. General, we've spilled the same blood in the same mud. And you know god damn well I can't give that order.
Navy SEAL: We're dead!
General Hummel: Your unit is covered from an elevated position, Commander. I'm not gonna ask you again. Don't do anything stupid. No-one has to die here.
Commander Anderson: [raising his voice] You men following the General: you're under oath as United States Marines, have you forgotten that? We all have shipmates we remember, some of them were shit on and pissed on by the Pentagon. But that doesn't give you the right to mutiny!
General Hummel: You call it what you want! You're down there, we're up here! You walked into the wrong goddamn room, Commander!

I like a lot of his work, but I still don't like that he was one of the guys that refused to stand and applaud Elia Kazan when he was given the Lifetime Achievement Award at 71st Academy Awards in 1999.
The two flicks that instantly come to my mind when I think of Ed Harris are The Truman Show and A Beautiful Mind.

Fuck Elia Kazan. Great director, but a flaming douche. Anyway, as far as Ed Harris is concerned the guy has always made lasting impressions in his work. I particularly enjoyed him in The Firm, I thought he made a lasting impression in a movie already filled with notable and memorable acting presences.

Ed Harris is great. His role as Carl Fogerty in "A History Of Violence" was pretty awesome.

Personally, I thought it was cruel for him to die, considering he was only married into that family.

It was a shame for him to die the way he did. The poor guy had not done anything wrong. Saying that the old man coming back from the dead was a bit of an old git when he was alive, so can imagine that he would want revenge on everyone.
I still love the Leslie Nielsen/Ted Danson story the most. Nielsen is damn evil in that story and i love the way he laughs and takes guilty pleasure in torturing poor Ted.

LOL.....i have it on DVD but have not watched it for a while. You are right about his eyes. His whole face come to think of it has a strange look on it whilst he is dancing. It cracks me up. I demand more silly dancing from serious actors in movies dammit!!!!
