For me, one of the most anticipated films of the fall season!

For me as well. Now that the disposable drek of summer is thankfully behind us, we can turn our attention back to films of substance.

I'm not holding my breath. I only like Van Sant when he's making small indies.

To Die For was an entertaining, smart film, and I've always had a soft spot for Good Will Hunting - maybe it's because for once a movie got the Boston accent right. Let's all just pretend Finding Forrester and Psycho never happened, shall we?

EDIT: I totally forgot about Even Cowgirls Get the Blues - ye gods, what a spectacular misfire!

I'm hit or miss with Van Sant, but that is one fantastic trailer. Count me in.

Looks like it could be a good movie, but it doesn't interest me.

Just because some media outlets *might* ruin the story it doesn't mean go ahead and do it.

Just because it's based on a true story doesn't mean it's a historical fact. If it was jfk or the titanic you might have a point, but not a lot of people know this story, it's really not that well known. And that the op notices it's a spoiler and mentions its a spoiler and doesn't spoilerize the text then yeah it is a spoiler. And at the very least spoilerize the text. It's not difficult.

It's not a spoiler. Harvey Milk's assassination was big news and going into the movie knowing about it isn't going to be a problem.

Glad to see Van Sant take a step away from his recent avant-garde experiments -- much anticipating this.

Perhaps someone can persuade Van Sant to add a few fart jokes and explosions post-production to keep you amused.

That might work. Or maybe an explosion or a car chase, here and there. Either way.

This looks really good so I hope it doesn't make me fall asleep in 30 minutes like Elephant and Last Days did.

I like the look of the trailer, I'll be interested in how they show SF, I saw some of the stuff from the castro in the media here, when they were filming.

I'll be there. I'm sure watching it in SF will be great!

actually is a historical fact because it happened in history. you know the past. so whether you or anyone else knew about it or not doesn't mean it didn't happened.

'Last Days' felt endless, 'Elephant' though I thought was rivetting.

Looks fascinating, and while the subject matter sells me immediately the cast is the main attraction here. Penn? Brolin? Hirsch? Franco? Luna? Sold.

Danny Elfman's also scoring...love his dramatic work (Midnight Run and Good Will Hunting among them).
