Morgan Spurlock vs Michael Moore?

Who is the better documentary filmmaker or makes better movies?

Spurlock has done Super Size Me and Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden and he has his own tv series 30 Days

Moore has done Fahrenheit 9/11, Sicko, Bowling for Columbine, and other movies and he had his own tv series TV Nation.

Spurlock has the shorter resume but still impressive.

if you don't like them who is the worse of 2 evils in your mind?

I like the show 30 Days more than anything either one has done. So I guess I'll go with Spurlock.

Spurlock is a joke. You don't even have to like Moore to know that he's a better film maker.

I like Spurlock's film (I have Where in the world... waiting as a rental at home tonight) and show much, much more than Moore's films and shows (the only one I haven't seen is SiCKO) from an enjoyment factor, but even I can't argue against Moore being a better director.

Moore is the better filmmaker, although considering his documentaries are almost always full of lies or half-truths, take that for what it's worth.

I did enjoy both Super Size Me and Where In The World...so Spurlock get's my vote.

Both are equally absurd.

The title of this tread sounds like an episode of Celebrity Deathmatch, which (all things considered) is probably the most fitting place for these two "documentarians."

My vote is for spurlock. He at least makes attempts to give a balanced view of his subjects.

I vote Spurlock because he brought the excellent documentary Czech Dream to the US:

Well, I like 30 Days a lot, but as far as feature documentaries go, Moore's are far superior to Spurlock's.

Maybe they will meet in a future death match.

I think Spurlocks movies are better

I have not seen Sicko yet either but it does not look that interesting.

I think MM is the better filmmaker, but I'd rather hang out with Spurlock.

I'm going to have to go with Spurlock. And this thread should have been a poll.

Yeah, this thread really is screaming to be a poll question.

I would have to vote for Michael Moore, if for no other movie than Roger and Me, which I think is still his best film, far and away.

Good god, this shouldn't even be a contest. Michael Moore is worlds better...Spurlock isn't even in the same ballpark. The fact that some of you guys HATE Moore so much (I'm guessing those same people are more ambivilent about Spurlock) proves he's better.

Well, I loath Michael Moore with a burning passion AND enjoy the hell out of Spurlock's movies and show.

Even I can admit Moore is better (but not more enjoyable).

As others have noted, Moore is the superior director in terms of technique and ability, but his personality is far more grating and his films are manipulative and duplicitous. That being said, Michael Moore would have been the perfect test subject for Super Size Me.
