My Bloody Valentine remake, in 3-D
I did a search & saw nothing, so forgive if this is a repost, I don't venture in here all that often.
They are remaking the movie My Bloody Valentine. They filmed (some of) it about 10 minutes from my house about six weeks ago. Kinda cool, they used a house that was up for sale, added a second story bay window, filmed, and now the house is back up for sale. In post-production now, releases on Jan 16, 2009.
That's all...move along.

From MTV:
This January, expect to see more of Jamie King on the silver screen – a lot more!
In addition to playing Loreli, one of the femme fatales in Frank Miller’s “The Spirit,” King will also be taking on the role of Sarah Palmer in the upcoming remake of the cult classic, “My Bloody Valentine.” However, those expecting to see just a straight-forward remake are in for a treat, as this version will not only be a 3D film, but also be shot in 4K – a new version of HD filming that’s taking movie-watching to a whole new level.
“Normal HD is 2000 [pixels], [“My Bloody Valentine 3D”] is shot at 4000, and it’s done with 3D, so it’s not like random things flying at you. It’s literally the whole thing…you’re in the movie,” explained King. “Lionsgate’s doing a great job of being involved with these films that are really taking it to the next level, so I’m really excited about that.”
King will be playing the aforementioned Palmer — who’s involved in a bizarre love triangle between her husband and a jealous ex-boyfriend, and the story revolves around a series of murders which took place during Valentines Day ten years prior. “It’s just the mystery around all of that,” said King. “But it’s really cool — it’s not just your normal gore, horror film. It’s very character-oriented.”

Well...uh...I just assume that...
Good enough for me. I just wondered if you knew it since you were so close to where some of it was filmed. Perhaps you talked to folks there, noticed something about the way it was filmed, etc.

I'd love it if someone could come out with a slasher remake that was actually fun. There seems to be two tones for slasher remakes: brutal and humorless (Halloween, Hills Have Eyes) or watered down and dumbed down for 8th graders (Prom Night, When a Stranger Calls). Is it too much to ask for a middle ground, something that's R-rated and not completely brain dead, but still fun?

Tom Atkins! In 3-D! My life will be complete.
Seriously, though, I was just thinking yesterday that horror films are perfect for 3-D. All that blood and gore... they could really do a lot to make people even more squeamish. Torture porn isn't the answer, it's getting people right in there with the grue that'll make 'em squirm.

My Blood-less Valentine poster. Glad to see the MPAA is earning their paychecks.

The unrated art seems decent, but I find it hypocritical of Satan's Censorers to not ok this artwork while a certain superhero film gets all the blood it wants on its second poster.

so are we going to see the legendary deleted scene in this remake, the chick getting impaled on the water pipe through the back of her head and out her mouth - now that's a 3D effect if you ask me... or will the MPAA be similarily offended and get it clipped for it's theatrical R-rating?

Chris_sc77 should be pleased. From Bloody-Disgusting:
It was revealed to Bloody-Disgusting that Lionsgate's My Bloody Valentine 3D has been given an R-rating by the MPAA for "graphic, brutal horror violence and grizzly images throughout, some strong sexuality, graphic nudity and language."
